Hi!
I am willing to help with the translation of Quarto to Hungarian. What should I do?
Hi,
I see you have already created a link to /Hu, you can start by copying over pages from /En , and translating them, the first page of the Quarto should be ready by now.
More info in Sj's post: http://mail.wikipedia.org/pipermail/translators-l/2004-December/000022.html

Hi!
Well, I am dumber than that:)
Where did I create a link to /Hu ? I remember translating that one sentence calling for help. I also remember adding a hu link to http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Translation_requests I still could not figure out how to add hu to the language list.
What I have tried so far:
1. Looked for the language list. I guess it is {{WQ-2-langs}}, but I could not figure out how to add hu. I thought I will add hu there, and edit the resulting link.
2. Tried http://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Translation_requests/WQ/2/Hu&...
It seems that nothing have been created.
Please tell me what to do as you would tell it to a 5 years old.
Thank you.

Hi,
Where did I create a link to /Hu ? I remember translating that one sentence calling for help.
Yes, on that page, you can open the Hu newsletter page by clicking /Hu (the title of the help notice): http://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Translation_requests/WQ/2/Hu:&am...
I also remember adding a hu link to http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Translation_requests I still could not figure out how to add hu to the language list.
At the end of the language list in the first page of the English newsletter, there is an edit link, click it and you will be taken to this page: http://meta.wikimedia.org/w/wiki.phtml?title=Template:WQ-2-langs&action=...
Now add a line for Hu similar to other languages.
If you're still having problems, let us know, I can help by adding a Hu link in language list, and creating a skeleton for the first page in /Hu.
Good luck :)

Hi!
Thanks, it helped a lot. The next silly question:
What is the right way to translate templates?
If I create templates appending "_HU" to the original template names, and translating into them, is that okay?

Ayman, thank you so much for your offer to translate the newsletter in Hungarian. For now, I would suggest you only translate titles and squeletton (image names and things like thatà because the newsletter is NOT finished, and translating it now will only mean more work later. We will announce on this list when a "fixed version" of Quarto will be available, right now it changes everyday, and to keep up with the changes might be very difficult.
Thank you again and stay tuned :)
Cheers,
Delphine

Hi,
Actually, It is Magosányi Árpád who wants to work on the Hu NL. I left a message along these lines to Magosányi on Meta.

this was the discrption of one of the pictures of vincent van gogh.plz translate this text from french to english for me. thank you
Well, this is actually Spanish, not French, and it also seems to be a quotation. If that is the case, translating it from Spanish into English (when I suppose the "native" language in the first place is probably Dutch) makes little sense in the first place. What kind of a description is this ? Context would help.
Cheers,
Delphine

Hi,
Actually templates shouldn't be translated AFAIK, to make some strings identical across different versions of the NL, they contain names of writers, languages, and such.
I left a message on your IP user page, as I said there, text in many pages isn't ready just yet, and some have text copied over from the first newsletter.
So I suggest you do some work on the first page, or wait until more pages are ready.
I also suggest you create an account on Meta, but this is optional.
