I do not really understand your question, and especiall not what "the pages
where open projects are listed" refers to. Are you searching for a list of
the Wikimedia projects, or something else?
If you have forgotten your username, the best way to find it is probably in
the history in one of the pages you have edited. In case those are difficult
to find, maybe you can tell the English title of some pages you translated
or German translated titel, and we can help you find it.
If you have forgotten your password, you can get a new one - provided you
put your e-mail address in your preferences, and authenticated it. If not,
you will probably have to get a new user account - or edit non-logged in, as
some people do. Interactions with others are easier if logged in, though.

Hello,
Quite lost on the Wikipedia-Site, since I did not translate for Wikipedia for quite some time.
Since I am interested in contributing again, I have some questions:
Any possibility to get hold of the data (name and log-in password, under which I contributed), as well as to get to the pages, where open projects (especially translations from articles from Wikipedia-Sites in other languages) are listed, since I am German, especially on the German Web-Site?
Would be extremely grateful, if any of you could take the time to answer.
Thanks in advance,
Sylvia

Hi there,
Wikimania 2007 is coming soon (very soon). I was surprised today to
find a blog "I registered Wikimania today" in Japanese, while I should
have known the registration would be open until the July 30, the next
Sunday.
If you are now wondering to go or not, it's the time to decide. :)
For attendees there are several useful info, including:
http://wikimania2007.wikimedia.org/wiki/Local_information
* Local information, transportation, currency, weather or electricity
... ready to translate.
http://wikimania2007.wikimedia.org/wiki/Schedule
* Schedule of main conference. Please be aware, it is not still movable.
http://wikimania2007.wikimedia.org/wiki/Frequently_Asked_Questions
* FAQ. Claimed not ready to translate, but informative.
http://wikimania2007.wikimedia.org/wiki/Proceedings:Index
* Proceedings. Many are still working, some are fixed and ready to translate.
Even if you are not there (I'll miss you very much), proceedings may
help participate in the conference presentations and discussions.
There are quite many interesting topics which you may want to refer
for improving your wikimedia life. You may find a chance to
participate in discussions of some presentations, thanks to Internet
radio and IRC. Last year some panels accepted questions from IRC
(someone on site asked the question on behalf of IRC participants).
Your translation will not only help the attendees, but also benefit
your community and you to take part in the conference virtually or
understand topics more deeply. Let's visit the website and join!

Hi,
thank you for your cooperations during the Election, I happily report
over 90% voters (the people who cast their valid vote) are estimated
to get candidate presentations in their own languages. Also except
Hebrew and two international pronects (meta and Commons), top 19
projects of the "votes by project" had Election related documents in
their language. Again, thanks!
So, as the result, we have a new Wikimedia Board and hence, foundation
website needs to update. Currently there are two requests on meta:
# 22 July 2007: Translation requests/WMF/About Wikimedia
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Translation_requests/WMF/About_Wikimedia
# 22 July 2007: Translation requests/WMF/Board of Trustees
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Translation_requests/WMF/Board_of_Trustees
Please update your language version and let people know the information.
Thank you for your attention,
Cheers .

I think it is right to be pedantic. In fact, if it is not stated already, it should be stated that this means any single WP project, but counts in several projects cannot be added together

It should read June 1, not March 1. Flick the wording as you'd like. :-)

Don't want to be pedantic, but shouldn't that be "The election rules

I know this is translators-l, not englishgrammarscrutiny-l, but we
might as well get it right in as many languages as possible.

Hello,
Election Committee needs your help as soon as possible. Ideally within
a day. Please give a look to the message quoted below which I sent it
to the foundation-l originally.
We are going to contact over 200 people by email and would like to
send a message in their own languages as possible as we can.
Specially we need the languages
* French
* German
* Dutch
* Spanish
* Polish
regarding to the number of unqualified voters. Also there are needs of
Portuguese, Chinese, Russian, Hebrew, Turkish or Czech, even voters
from those language community is small in number.
The request is on meta:

Thank you for your help!

Subject: [Election] Unqualified votes striking
To: Wikimedia Foundation Mailing List <foundation-l(a)lists.wikimedia.org>
Hello,
The Election Committee regretfully announces that we will have to
remove approximately 220 votes submitted. These votes were cast by
people not entitled to vote. The election rules state that users must
have at least 400 edits by March 1 to be eligible to vote.
[omitted]
In accordance with voting regulations the Election Committee will
strike the approximate 220 votes due to lack of voting eligibility.
The list of struck votes are available at
<https://wikimedia.spi-inc.org/index.php/List_of_struck_votes>. The
Election Committee is trying to contact those voters separately by
email.
It is possible that some of those people may have accounts on other
projects where they have more than 400 edits, and they may still be
eligible to vote. We strongly encourage them to vote again with their
other account. For those people who don't have any other accounts
eligible to vote, we hope they reach the criteria in the next
Election, and will be happy to see them participate in the future
Elections.
Your comments, questions or messages to the Committee would be
appreciated, and can be made at [[m:Talk:Board elections/2007/en]].
Again, we would like to deeply apologize for any inconvenience.
