Hey everyone,
The next community wishlist survey is coming up. We have a short invitation that will be sent out later. Your help translating it is welcome, as always: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/2017_Community_Wishlist_Survey/Invitation
Also, the wishlist page itself has been marked for translation. We'll add a few buttons and stuff like that later on, but the existing content should remain stable: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Community_Wishlist_Survey_2019

It is indeed. Thank you. And my apologies.

Hi,
It seems that on this page: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Community_Wishlist_Survey_2019/fr the FuzzyBot has removed a lot of my translations. And the texts cannot be translated anymore. What happened?
Moreover, it would be nice if unchanged texts from the previous survey were automatically taken back.
Regards,
Sylvain Chiron (Frigory on the wikis)

OK, so the reason is actually related to your request. In order to keep unchanged texts from previous surveys, MusikAnimal restructured the page in a way that will allow previous translations to be used without any need for you do to anything the next year if nothing has changed. He's currently running a script to get back all the existing translations.

OK, fantastic!
Best regards,
Hello!
I have finished refactoring out all the translations into templates, and I've gone through the current and previous surveys to import existing translations. Some things were unavoidably lost, like the dates under " Schedule https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Community_Wishlist_Survey_2019#schedule", but most everything else has been retained. Attribution was also lost, which I apologize for, but there wasn't much I could do about that :(
The message templates may now be a little hard to find. I think in the Translation tool itself you could look for things in the "Community Wishlist Survey" group, but I've also categorized all the pages under Category:Community Wishlist Survey/Messages https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Community_Wishlist_Survey/Messages. Additionally, I've added "Translate" links to the large sections on the main survey page (shown only when viewing in non-English).
If there's anything else I can do to assist with translations, let me know :)

Hi,
Before this good work to reuse previous translations was made, I had translated about 80% of the page in French. Now, my translations are only available in the history of the French version of the page. Would it be possible to restore them automatically?

I'll take another look today or tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure I imported everything that could be imported. Some things were broken into separate messages, as some parts were reusable year-to-year and other parts were not. Those need to be retranslated :/
At any rate, I'd most likely have to do it manually too, so feel free to help. This is with the understanding that you won't have to do any such translating for future surveys, so hopefully worth the effort :)
Apologies for the trouble! We should have done this refactoring a long time ago.
