Lo que debe traducir está *en* la página: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Fundraising_2009/core_messages/es, por ejemplo: "[Hide]" y "[Expand]".
Does that make sense?
Just a reminder that translations are ongoing and the deadline is Monday, November 2nd.

In translatewiki.net you can translate a few MediaWiki extensions that are directly used for the fundraiser (please register and request translator rights if you have not done so already). They have only been supported for a few days, so it is unlikely that translations have already been made past a handful of the very active languages.
* http://translatewiki.net/w/i.php?title=Special:Translate http://translatewiki.net/w/i.php?title=Special:Translate&group=ext-di-di &group=ext-di-di (Donation interface)
* http://translatewiki.net/w/i.php?title=Special:Translate http://translatewiki.net/w/i.php?title=Special:Translate&group=ext-di-pfpg &group=ext-di-pfpg (Payflow Pro Gateway)
* http://translatewiki.net/w/i.php?title=Special:Translate http://translatewiki.net/w/i.php?title=Special:Translate&group=ext-di-ppg &group=ext-di-ppg (PayPal Gateway)
If these extensions have been translated already in your language, please do feel free to translate whatever you can get your hands on:

No, we don't publish translations that haven't been proofread. However, don't worry, we still have over a week. You could also ask your friends to proofread it too if you want.

Guys, there's something weird in the English text:
* Number of Wikipedia articles (in millions). * 14 million * 25 million
This is wrong; you either remove the "(in millions)" on the first item, or remove the "million" on each of the following.
Such error in 3 places.
Can we fix the English text or shall we leave it as it is?
Perhaps a bit unrelated, and don't want to be a pain in the neck, but we do need consistent an non-ambiguous original texts to translate them, otherwise it can result in poor translations.

I am not sure there is an actual error. These texts will be used in this context http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:NoticeTemplate so unless there is some inconsistency in the same CentralNotice, I think it is fine.

Please do. Loose phrases can't be translated, you need context.
I think we need a place for communikation between translators and people who are somewhat responsible for, or who at least have good knowledge of how the fundraiser thing works. What a "benefactor honor roll" is, and so on. And it wouldn't be bad at all if all pages where the phrases are words could be given in a link list, so we could see for ourselves.

Due to some technical issues, the launch has been pushed back to November 2: http://meta.wikimedia.org/?diff=1697101&oldid=1673649.
This means that we have another week to translate and the deadline is now November 9. :-)
I have some questions.
Phase 3
* Since these phrases will be used as shown in http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:NoticeTemplate howcome there isn't the phrase "Our Goal" to be translated? These two words are in many of the sitenotices, should they not be translated?
Phase 5
* The slogans of course often can't be directly translated, you need to make up something in a similar vein instead. Understanding the original slogans is a help, however. So I just wonder what the phrase “I believe us” means. To me, it looks like a word is missing.
Donation Pages
* "This is where we protect Wikipedia, the encyclopedia written by the people." What does "people" mean here. Aren't all encyclopaedias written by people? Does it mean "Ordinary people"? "You and me"?
* Should the page in all languages contain boxes to tick, saying how many _dollars_ you give? Quotes from donors - all English speaking - and donation specifically in dollars... feels a bit like this is an American thing, the rest of us are not really invited in the same way. Now I don't know how the system works but if it can be just omitted, that seems to me like the best.
Other lines to translate
* Policies. Just which policies do the word refer to? * Just what benefactors are we talking about - donors in general, or something else?
Best regards /Hanna
De: Hanna Björk sweetadelaide@gmail.com “I believe us” means.
In Spanish we translated as if "I believe in us".
* "This is where we protect Wikipedia, the encyclopedia written by the people."
"The people" means everybody, not just some people.
For the rest, I don't really know, but this is what I was talking about in my previous mail.

So I just wonder what the phrase “I believe us” means. To me, it looks like a word is missing.
I got this from Rand (Head of Community Giving for the Foundation):
« Nope...it reads correctly. As in: "I believe in what we are saying." As in "I believe in the collaborative editing process." As in "I believe that the articles on Wikipedia are correct." While I'm sure that Jimmy does believe in us as well, it's not the point. »
* Just what benefactors are we talking about - donors in general, or something else?
« Donors of $1000 (USD) are eligible for a one year spot on our Benefactors page. All donations are listed on our Donor Comments page. »
