Greetings Translators!
There is a new request on the meta translation hub. It is located under "Editor Appeals" at: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Fundraising_2010/Translation Currently we need the appeal from Editor Kartika to be translated: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Fundraising_2010/Editor_Appeals/en There will be more editor appeals added here throughout the fundraiser. Stay tuned!

This time the currencies are more varied - $, €, ¥. Can i add ₪ to the Hebrew translation or maybe replace the ¥ with it? ₪ is a lot more relevant to most Hebrew speakers than ¥ is.

Philippe is right, important thing to check so that we don't make it look like we are offering a currency that we can't accept.
That said we do accept Sheckles ₪ :)

Philippe - I suggest you let other currencies be named in the appeals - it makes "identification" easier: "This is meant for me!" And when contributing people understand that all currencies can not be handled.

I just have a suggestion that
we better ask the editors themselves to also help to "translate" into their own languages (the rest left to the volunteers of course)
as they know their appeal best I suppose

OK. Indonesian Rupiah is not supported by Paypal. She is Indonesian, the message is in Indonesian, but the message should not include Rupiah? (I replaced Yen by Rupiah for contextualization)

Indonesian (id) message translated. And since this is her mother tongue,
Is it right that Kartika is a woman? It is important for Upper Sorbian and Lower Sorbian translations for grammatical reasons.
Thanks,
Michael

The purpose of having an editor appeal for donations is to help the general readership connect with the contributor. I am not aware of Kartika's position on this but for the future we could perhaps have users who are comfortable with revealing their identity in public. A real person with a picture and a job is very convincing.
