Joseph, there is a plenty of Langing page translations marked as 'Ready' and not yet published. Would you update it?
Thanks.

The status box for the landing page and banners in Italian (
https://meta.wikimedia.org/**wiki/Template:Translate-** status/Fundraising_2012/ithttps://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:Translate-status/Fundraising_2012/it ) shows that this year's translations have not yet been published. (they are marked either proofreading or update translation). I think that the banners and landing page you are seeing on the Italian wikipedia must be last year's translations. So personally (as a fellow translator - not an admin) I would recommend you to finish the proofreading and translation of this year's messages by clicking on the 'proofreading' and 'update translation' links. When finished you should change the status to ready and request publishing of the messages. When this year's messages are published the messages you see currently should disappear, except if you are in Switzerland, France or Germany.
As far as I can see, the fundraiser translations for this year in most languages have not yet been published. So the same problem has been reported also from Japan.
Those templates don't seem up to date or relevant, as it was pointed out on talk.
I am surprised that you can disable the fundraising banners in Italian - can you explain how you can do this and we cannot do this on our wiki.
You can't. Meta-Wiki administrators are technically able to but they can only for obvious emergencies.
