Hello translators!
*In a nutshell* https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Notifications is ready for translations after important changes
*Detailed request* Some improvements have been done to the Notification extension, like design and new features. Collaboration team plan to make some changes soon, and release cross-wiki notifications (which will have a specific help page, translatable soon).
To be ready to welcome these changes during the next weeks, the documentation has been upgraded, by detailing the different features. I've tried to preserve the previous translations, but that was not always possible.
I know this is a very big page to translate and so a big workload. Do not hesitate to send me privately your preferences concerning page size for the future!
Have a nice week-end, Benoît
Now translations are 17 % outdated and 5 % done. :( On the bright side, some languages may be quick to improve by rescuing old translations.

Hi, better wait:
This page contains changes which are not marked for translation.

Hi,
sorry to say, part this stuff appears pretty untranslatable to me without in depth studies.
1) There is a wild mixture of almost indistinguishable words or expressions: notification - alert - message - message warning - etc. - While I know that there are subtle differences in English, fine grain translations do not exist, and unless resorting to repeated lengthy explanations, translations are all the same. Translated sentences are either funny or next to empty.
2) There is a lot of irrelevant stuff there. Nice to be welcomed but it is a waste of readers time, since it bears no information. Not even nice to know that formerly there was "Echo" - it is plain information clutter, has not to be part of this documentation - except, if we really feel it might be valuable to some, once(!) in a footnote. It could possibly be interesting to a small minority, who developed that stuff. If you really think it was important enough, footnote it. Etc..
I for one am pretty unwilling to translate bulky sentences that are of no to little help if you look for help. Please overhaul the Text.

I have translated into French, but not easily, with (I believe) same issue as Purodha. Help : warning = notification There are 2 kinds of notification/warning : - alerts - messages As alert and warning seems to be synonyms, we have to use synonyms like notification, information, announce... I hope it is useful.
But even if I have some ideas, I am not proud of my translation. So it would be nice if someone else could check French translation.
