Hi,
As I am translating Tec News into ja, and wonder if we
replace [time] template to “Meeting” announcement section, because in some double byte
languages like ja, ko, and zh, we write date and month in numerical with suffix.
* Please replace the present [time {{#time:defaultformat|$daten|$format_language_code}}
hh:mm (UTC)] and use {{#time:defaultformat|$daten|$format_language_code}} plus hh:mm (UTC)
outside the square parentheses.
Reason:
* At the moment, at “Meetings” section and applying [time
{{#time:n月j日|$date1|$format_language_code}} hh:mm (UTC)] outputs “[time n月j日 hh:mm
(UTC)]”.
* I wish to output “n月j日 hh:mm (UTC)”.
* The section announcing deployment uses template
{{#time:n月j日|$date1|$format_language_code}} with hours (UTC) outside the bracket. No
problem shows on the published sentences.
Please tell me if I'm reading you wrong and replying to something else
than your question.
What you're asking is to output "n月j日 hh:mm (UTC)" instead of "[$time
n月j日 hh:mm (UTC)]" like it is in the announcement that helps people
keep track of the when MediaWiki version comes to the different wikis?
You could do that by removing "[$time " and "]" in the Japanese
translation, the only thing that will disappear is the link to
timeanddate.com, and train the translation memory to suggest that
instead – it's entirely up to you.
Sorry if this isn't what you meant. (:
