Hello translators,
Next week, the Wikimedia Foundation Universal Code of Conduct (UCoC) team
will be asking the global Wikimedia community for input on UCoC
enforcement. In order to reach as many language communities as possible, we
need your help to translate the short announcement of the consultation:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Universal_Code_of_Conduct/2021_consultation…
We hope to send out this announcement later this week.
The consultation begins next week on 5 April. We would also appreciate
assistance with the two project pages (translation markup coming in the
next hour):
-
Main page:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Universal_Code_of_Conduct/2021_consultations
-
Suggested questions page:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Universal_Code_of_Conduct/2021_consultation…
Thank you for your ongoing translation efforts. Please reach out to
User:Xeno (WMF) (xeno-ctr at wikimedia.org) if you have any questions or
comments.
Sincerely,
Brian Choo

Hi all,
This is a translation request for a short outreach message. It's about the
upcoming deployment of the line numbering feature on all wikis:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Johanna_Strodt_(WMDE)/Line_numbering_a…
I plan to send this announcement to all wikis on April 12, so it would be
wonderful to have many translations by April 11.
Thanks a lot for your help! I appreciate it a lot.

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to let you know that Tech News is late because of a bug
affecting translatable pages, so you know why I'm not sending out the
newsletter for early translation now:

Hello translators,
The Wikimedia Foundation Community Resources team[1] is requesting your
support in translating content on the Grants Strategy Relaunch[2] on
Meta-wiki. These pages are related to a consultation we are doing to
improve the way we structure our grant programs and support communities
through funding and other kinds of support. We support volunteers across
the movement through funding, so any translation support you can provide
will have substantial benefit for communities' accessibility to these
materials and their ability to participate.
If you are able to support translations, we are requesting you to
prioritize the following pages, in this order:
- Welcome
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Community_Resources/Grants_Strategy_Relaunc…>
- Proposed programs
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Community_Resources/Grants_Strategy_Relaunc…>
- How will this affect me?
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Community_Resources/Grants_Strategy_Relaunc…>
- Get involved
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Community_Resources/Grants_Strategy_Relaunc…>
While there are other pages included in this consultation, these are less
of a priority compared to the above pages, which will help orient and
convey the substance of the consultation as well as how to provide feedback.
A few important notes:
- Our team has prepared a French translation for most materials, though
there is some content missing on the Programmes proposés[3] page.
- Our team is currently reviewing a draft of a Spanish translation that
we will be adding later this week, so volunteer translations will not be
needed, though we are open to review and revisions from additional native
speakers for quality and readability.
Thank you for your translation efforts, as your work supports important
communication to support the needs of editors and organizers in Wikimedia
communities. Please feel free to reach out to myself or
communityresources(a)wikimedia.org if you have any questions related to this
request.
Thanks,
*Chris Schilling* (him//they)

Please translate
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Whatamidoing_(WMF)/Custom_signature
for me. This will be sent to people who need to change their account
preferences. The messages will probably go out next week (maybe the week
after that).
More than half of this text is copied exactly from
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/New_requirements_for_user_signatures/Help
which means that French, Italian, Swedish, Arabic, Bangla, Chinese, and
Japanese translations should be especially quick and easy. (It took me
about three minutes to do those copied parts for the German translation; I
haven't tried to translate the rest.) Please consider translating the main
help page, too. It will be helpful to everyone and also save time later,
for future messages.
🙏🏽 Thank you. Translators make the Wikimedia movement work!
