Greetings,
The latest tech newsletter is ready for early translation:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Tech/News/2015/19
Direct translation link:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Translate&group=page-T…
I'm planning to send the newsletter on Monday afternoon (UTC), i.e.
Monday morning PST. The existing translations will be posted on the
wikis in that language.
There may be a few more edits by tomorrow (Friday), but the existing
content should generally remain fairly stable. I'll let you know
tomorrow in any case.
Let me know if you have any questions, comments or concerns. As
always, I appreciate your help and feedback.
Thanks!

Hello :),
My name is Andrew, I am a new Digital Communications Intern on the
Communications team at Wikimedia Foundation. I help edit and publish for
our Wikimedia blog, produce digital media, and help with other general
communications tasks.
We have a short paragraph that needs to be translated:
*" Did you know that you can now share facts as images from the Wikipedia
app? Start by selecting text in any Wikipedia article. Then select share
and the app creates an image with the text using the top image from the
Wikipedia article as a background. "*
This short script will become captions for a video to be released later
this week.
Here are a few languages we would like help translating to: Russian
Spanish, French, Arabic, German, Japanese, Chinese, Portuguese.
Any other languages are welcome and appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to read this email. Thank you in advance for
all your help and support.
Best,

Ahoy Translators!
The 2015 Wikimedia Election is coming up very quickly and the call for
candidates (including banners) goes up on Monday. It would be really
awesome if you could take a look at the election pages to help translate
them so that more people can understand what's going on and contribute.
This is especially important because the Board and the FDC are aiming to
get more diversity this year both in terms of languages, countries and
representation from non Wikipedia projects. The best people to know who
within the community is right for the job will be the community themselves
and so the Election Committee
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Foundation_elections_2015/Committ…>
and I want to work to make sure everyone can take part.
The easiest links to use:
- CentralNotice Banner
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Translate&group=Centra…>
- High Priority Translations
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Translate&language=en&…>
(this
is for the main pages with instructions for candidates and users who want
to nominate someone else, as well as for the letters from the Board and the
FDC staff asking for candidates)
- All Election Translations
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Translate&language=en&…>
As always thank you for all of your work and please let us know if you have
any questions. We have a special talk page for translations
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Talk:Wikimedia_Foundation_elections_2015/Tr…>
that is available and I am always happy to answer questions by email as
well.

Hi all,
This should be one of the last bits of translation needed for SUL
finalization. It's three sentences to be left after the rename takes place.
Users will have more details if/when they log in.
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Single_User_Login_finalisation_announcement…
Thanks to those who have already helped translate, and for all that you do,
as always. Language is a gift :)

There won't be any more edits; the text of the newsletter is final,
and you can translate safely. I was sick yesterday and unable to
prepare an early version.
Let me know if you have any questions, comments or concerns. As
always, I appreciate your help and feedback.
Thanks!
