Sorry for crossposting. CLDR data submission has started this week,
we're looking for more translators: so far I have added 23 new
translators who made over a thousands translations and seem happy with
the system.
Instructions are kept up to date at
<https://translatewiki.net/wiki/CLDR#Contribute_to_an_existing_locale>.
As you know, Wikimedia projects exist in almost 300 languages;
supporting them all is a big effort so we partner with other
organisations, also via Unicode. One small but visible thing we miss is
that many interwiki links in sidebar (among others) don't offer a
translation of the language name when hovered. This can be fixed: we're
now able to translate 100 more language names in your language.[1]
If you're interested, I can create you an account to submit translations
on the CLDR web tool (within June 14): please send an email[2] to ask
one and I'll follow up with instructions. On CLDR you can translate and
tweak many other things, if you desire; your work will impact hundreds
of software projects.[3]

Hello,
I am Vikas, student from NITK Surathkal, India. I know 3
languages(Kannada,Hind and English). I came to know about this mailing list
from Amir Aharoni, who is my mentor for GSOC project on Automated Cross
Language Screenshot[1].
As I will be automating browser screenshots on multiple languages, it will
be a new experience for me. Sometimes I might have to write(in
VisualEditor) in different languages. I hope to learn new languages and
meet new people.

Hi all,
As many of you have probably seen we have banners running right now
announcing the new privacy policy which will start in a couple weeks (and
many of you helped to translate the banner). That banner goes to an English
blog post and the legal team has asked me to reach out to see if any of you
would be willing to help translate that as well so that we can put it up on
the blog. They have especially gotten requests for Spanish and Russian and
a couple requests for French.
You can find the english version of the blog post at
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Blog/Drafts/Launching_a_Privacy_P…
the translation extension link at
https://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Translate&group=page-W….
If there are any particular issues please let me know and I'll work to try
and find an answer.

Greetings,
AffCom has posted a RFC on Wikimedia user group logos that we are taking
comments on for two weeks. We would like to reach as wide an audience as
reasonably possible. If you could help by translating the page, it would be
greatly appreciated.

Hi All,
The Legal team will be announcing later this week (currently planned for
Wednesday) the start of a 30 day notice period that the privacy policy will
be changing. This is the privacy policy that was discussed over a multi
month period on wiki ( https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Privacy_policy ) and
was recently approved by the board. You can find the banner text to
translate (using the translate extension) at
https://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Translate&group=Centra….
If possible (transliteration is fine) we want to keep the day part of the
date ( 6 ) as a number so that, if the announcement date gets pushed back
for some reason or another, we can adjust the official starting date
without affecting the translations much.
Michelle is still finishing the blog post itself but the plan is to have it
available for translation as well so that over the course of the month we
can get it up in as many translations as possible.
If you'd prefer you can also send me the translation off list and I'm happy
to insert it. The current text is:
Our Privacy Policy is changing on 6 June 2014.
To learn more, click here.
We also have the 'close' text (shown you hover over the close button)
saying: Close
