Hi, I made a blurb for Wikimedia Quarto Vol.2 on which we are now
working. Here are now only English and Japanese, but soon French
version will be added.
English version: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/WQ/Blurb/En:
Now they are on meta, but its purpose is a blurb on your local wiki.
It depends on you
to put it on Village Pump or create a new page. The image was taken
from Quarto navigation
and already uploaeded on Commons as Reports.png.
It will make me happy if this blurb helps you to get more translators
you needed as help or mor readers on your project. I created this page
mainly for urging users on local wikis to put
feedbacks in their language, because a JA user told me he was
hesitated to send a feedback
by mail or write on meta. For those people I have a plan to add the
bottom "please write
here your feedback" (or talk, if more appropriate).
I expect you find much smarter way to utilize this content. Cheers,
:(Ja:)
:ウィキメディア・Quarto の広告を作ってみました。
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/WQ/Blurb/Ja:
いまのところ翻訳者が枯渇というほどではないので(とはいえ皆様よろしくお願いします)
出来上がったときに広告に使うのがよいかと思っています。日本語版ウィキペディアなどに
おいて、ノートかページの下部に本体のフィードバックを書き込んでもらうのに使えるかも
と考えています。ご意見をよろしくお願いします。

Subject: [Foundation-l] Donation pages/forms need to be translated
before next fund drive
To: Wikimedia Foundation Mailing List <foundation-l(a)wikimedia.org>
Cc: wikipedia-l(a)wikimedia.org
I'm happy to report that the donation pages and forms for de, en, fr, it, ja,
and most recently nl are all translated!
See http://wikimediafoundation.org/wiki/Fundraising and
http://wikimediafoundation.org/wiki/Donazioni for examples.
But in order to maximize donations for our next fund drive (to be held sometime
in early to mid February; exact days TBA) we need more translations.
Below is a table of those that still need some work:
lang page Form-xx Help-xx Onetime-xx Option-xx
ar yes no no no no
cs yes no no no no
es yes no no no no
fi yes no no no no
he yes no no no no
ko yes no no no no
pl yes no no no no
pt yes yes no no no
sv yes no no no no
zh yes no no no no
KEY (full instructions are on the linked pages)
*page (actual donation page | Extremely important)
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Translation_requests/WMF/Fundraising/En:
*Form-xx (used to translate donation forms | Very important)
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:DonationForm-xx
*Help-xx (help for donors)
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:DonateHelp-xx
*Onetime-xx (a message about one time donations)
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:DonateOnetime-xx
*Option-xx (used for navigation between forms)
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:DonateOption-xx
I'd also like to see translations for all languages for which there are 10,000+
Wikipedia articles. Here is a list of those that so far do not have anything
translated:
bg, ca, da, eo, no, ro, ru, and uk
Of course, all other translations are also welcome and will be posted to the
foundation wiki.
-----------
One last thing. I've noticed that there is no donation link in the side bar for
for many non-Wikipedia wikis and for some Wikipedias. If you are an admin in
any of these wikis *and* a version of the donation page is already on the
Foundation wiki in your language, then please do this:
Edit [[MediaWiki:Sitesupport-url]] and replace '{{SITENAME}}:Site_support' with
'Wikimedia:donate' with 'donate' being the name of the donation page in your
language on the foundation wiki (Spenden, Fundraising, Faites un don, ... etc).
Edit [[MediaWiki:Sitesupport]] and replace the '-' with the word 'Donations'
(or its closest equivalent) translated into your language.
That's it. :)

this email or ask me questions on my meta user talk page at

Hello everyone.
The squeleton of Quarto is done. All the text
contained in Quarto has been clearly identified in
templates of the form.
Some of these templates are now ready to translate,
but I ask you not to do it unless it is clearly
indicated that edition is done on it. This to avoid
any change afterwards.
I also ask you to avoid editing the squelletum for
now. There is very little to translate on it, and I
think it would be wiser to do it when most of the
Quarto is translated, similarly to avoid mistakes.
--------
All templates are of the type :
/WQ/2/Founder for the original english version
to the type
/WQ/2/Founder/Fr for any non english version.
This is the message of Jimbo for new year eve.
Please help to translate it in your language :
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Translation_requests/WQ/2
Just copy the english version in your template and
translate its content.
Please, only do the Founder's letter.
Thanks.
Anthere

Hello all,
The Translate Toolkit folks have set up a web portal where you can
distribute the translation of a set of strings (like the interface for
a piece of software). What do people think about using this to help
translate Mediawiki ?

I recently re-set my interface language preference on :meta, and I'm
getting this at the top of each and every page:
"Van Meta — die gratis ensiklopedie."
Obviously, this is incorrect. Who do I need to contact to go about
fixing that up?
