Hi translators, in light of the events of the last weekend, I would strongly suggest to everyone to consider not translating those two pages in protest against the Foundation's disrespectful treatment of the volunteer community — that is, of us all.
It is clear to me that the Foundation no longer considers the volunteer community an equal partner; a partner who is able to make its own decisions, and a partner who is able to sort out its own internal disagreements through discussion and consensus.
Please remember that your volunteer contributions to fundraising pages directly sustain such actions of the Foundation. Your work helps them save time and effort that they would otherwise have to invest in recruiting, training and managing new employees, and saves them money they would otherwise have to spend on professional translations.
Suspending translation of fundraising pages brings pressure on the Foundation, and makes them re-consider the importance and value of the volunteers community, which can hopefully lead to the reversal of the unacceptable changes of the past weekend.
There are many ways to help the Wikimedia movement while simultaneously expressing dissatisfaction at the recent actions of the Foundations — there are thousands of messages in the MediaWiki software and its extensions, and user manuals and help pages that await translation.
If you disagree with the actions of the Foundation, please consider expressing your dismay by withdrawing your help in translating fundraising pages and focusing your efforts on those areas that help your fellow volunteer Wikimedians.
Thank you so much for reading and for your consideration.
