I intend to add a navigation contol in all newsletters to navigate across editions. For now there's a category but few people use them and it will be easier if we can link editions. May be we could add at least a dummy entry for the empty edition this week, which should just say that there's no news for that week. The content should be generic enough to be reusable later if there are other empty weeks. We could then navigate also by selecting weeks in a small calendar.
See the Tech News for example where such empty editions have been used in some weeks.
I'll possibly add also some summary page for news that were initially published only in English Wikipedia, or pointing to relevant editions of Tech News (possibly reimporting them here. Some of these past news still have an interest, at least historically to find related technical details and discussions (some of them still having interest as they were also intended for longer term developments). There's no emergency anyway; the contents are reorganize/restructured incrementally according to current needs or when categories become overpopulated.
Before that I'll probably recategorize news by year, for archival and indexing purpose (we have a category for tracking the history of Wikimedia by year). I'll do that starting by the oldest ones. There should not be additions to the text of these news, except possibly for generic labels included by templates that will be translated only once.

Hello,
Just a quick note to let you know that there isn't going to be a technical newsletter today, because there was very little to write.
The newsletter will resume its usual schedule at the end of the week.
Thank you, and happy new year if you celebrate it!
