Greetings,
The search team at the Wikimedia Foundation wants feedback on what could be
a pretty big project. We want to to change wiki search results to include
information from other projects in the same language. We think this will
help people find more information across our movement. We want to include
as many communities as possible for this discussion and humbly request
assistance with translating our invitation and discussion page. Thank you
in advance for your help.

Hi,
Please check the translation of the jquery.uls project to your language and
complete what is needed:
https://translatewiki.net/w/i.php?title=Special:Translate&group=out-jquery-…
Several changes were made in Universal Language Selector (ULS) lately,
mostly as fixes for the Compact Language Links feature. For technical
reasons, some of these message are not listed in the MediaWiki extension
"Universal Language Selector" in translatewiki.net, but as a separate group.
In particular, the message "All languages" will be deployed to Wikimedia
sites starting Wednesday September 7, so it would be nice if you could
check this as soon as possible.
It's a very small and rarely-updated group, so it would be nice if you can
use the opportunity to review the rest of the messages there.
Thank you!

The latest tech newsletter is ready for early translation:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Tech/News/2016/35

I'm planning to send the newsletter on Monday afternoon (UTC), i.e.
Monday morning PDT. The existing translations will be posted on the
wikis in that language.
There may be a few more edits by Friday, but the existing content
should generally remain fairly stable. I will let you know on Friday
in any case.
Let me know if you have any questions, comments or concerns. As
always, I appreciate your help and feedback.

First item in recent changes (<maplink>
<https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Special:MyLanguage/Help:Extension:Kartograph…>)
is about a change that should happen yesterday but seems it will be
postponed for a week.
https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T144062#2603674
If so, it needs to be moved from "Recent changes" to "Changes this week".

Hi everyone,
One of the most active members of our small translator community and on
this list, Purodha, has passed away, his political party states
<http://www.seidenstadt-piraten.de/2016/08/26/wir-trauern-farewell-purodha/>.
On his Meta talk page, he reported having had a serious health breakdown in
mid-August, but was recovering and even resumed translating. Unfortunately,
his recovery didn't last long. We'll have fewer Ripuarian translations in
the future.
He was active in the German-speaking community and there's a condolences
page on German Wikipedia:
