Hi Jakob,
zunächst war es nur eine Frage, nämlich die, ob Ihr nur an technische Dinge
denkt oder auch an - ich sage mal- menschliche. Die Frage hast Du - und hat
Johann - ja klar beantwortet.
Meine Antworten bezogen sich dann darauf, dass ich den Eindruck hatte, Ihr
würdet praktische Philosophie usw. in den Hokuspokus-Bereich schieben. Das
ist ja nun klar ersichtlich, dass ich dem nicht zustimme.
Ich bin ja froh, dass mein Eindruck wohl nicht stimmte, aber es ist Dir
nicht deutlich, worauf ich hinaus will.
Es ist eben die alte Frage: Was mache ich aus einem Stück Eisen?
Techniker erklären mir dann, was ich alles daraus machen kann und auch wie
ich es machen kann. Was sie mir nicht erklären, warum ich z.B. einen Pflug
daraus schmieden soll und nicht lieber ein Schwert - oder eben umgekehrt.
Fragen der praktischen Philosphie wären - um in diesem biblischen Bild zu
bleiben - z.B.:
Unter welchen Umständen ist es sinnvoll, einen Pflug zu schmieden und wann
ist es sinnvoll, ein Schwert zu schmieden?
Oder, um mal aus diesem Bild heraus zu kommen:
Wie kann ich ein friedliches Zusammenleben von Muslimen und Nichtmuslimen in
Deutschland und auf der Erde erreichen?
Unter welchen Umständen soll man ein Kopftuch erlauben oder verbieten?
Welche Verantwortung habe ich als Verbraucher für die umweltfreundliche und
sozial gerechte Herstellung der Produkte, die ich kaufe?
Wann ist Egoismus überlebensnotwendig und wann kontraproduktiv?
Wie gehe ich mit meinem Egoismus um, damit er mehr nützt als schadet?
Usw. usf.
Eindeutige Antworten lassen sich da bestimmt nicht finden, aber sinnvolle,
brauchbare, viable bestimmt.
Ob das alles in ein Wissen-Wie?-Forum passt, so wie Du es Dir / Ihr es Euch
vorstellt, ist eine andere Frage, aber grundsätzlich kann ich es mir
vorstellen. Ich hatte allerdings noch keine Zeit, in die erwähnte
amerikanische Seite rein zu schauen.

Seit gestern gibt es für die Software Google Earth sehr hoch auflösende Luftbilder von ca. 80% der Fläche Deutschlands. Dadurch
können jetzt alle Ortschaften und sonstigen Landmarken wesentlich genauer georeferenziert werden.
Ich bitte alle herzlich darum, in den Regionen in denen sie sich auskennen, die bestehenden georeferenzierten Artikel auf ihre
richtige Platzierung hin zu überprüfen und gegebenenfalls die Koordinate im Artikel zu korrigieren.

vor einigen Wochen gab es auf dem Bundeskongress der Bundeszentrale
für Politische Bildung - (Haupt?)sponsor war übrigens Brockhaus -
eine Diskussion mit Jeanette Hoffmann, Erik Möller und Bernd Kreissig.

Kreissig stellt sich nun in die Reihe mit McHenry und seinem
Toilettenvergleich. Der Ort für die Erledigung von Bedürfnissen sei
für ihn immer noch Brockhaus. Oder so ähnlich (your pointe may vary).
In der Wikipedia iin englischer Sprache gibt es einen Eintrag über
Toilettenhumor.
"Er schloss seinen Vortrag mit einem Vergleich: kommerzielle
Enzyklopädien und freie Enzyklopädien wie Wikipedia würden sich in
etwa so unterscheiden wie Rastplätze auf den kostenfreien deutschen

In our issue of 15 December 2005 we published a news article that compared the
Internet offerings of Encyclopaedia Britannica and Wikipedia on
scientific topics
("Internet encyclopaedias go head to head", Nature 438 (7070) p900-901).
Encyclopaedia Britannica has now posted a lengthy response to this
article on its
website, accusing Nature of misrepresentation, sloppiness and indifference to
scholarly standards, and calling on us to retract our article. We reject those
accusations, and are confident our comparison was fair.
