I don't think there is any reason to go ballistic, because I do not think that Eric wanted to imply that Jimbo would prefer dictatorship or anything when he said that he did understand libertarians not to be democrats.
Libertarianism is extremely difficult to understand for European people, I once tried to, read quite a lot, but it looks very American to me, and I didn't get the point at all - and that was after reading the pro-sites only. (The contra-sites didn't help, either.) "Free market anarchism" is exactly how it would sound to many - and that would be completely devoid of any positive connotations of either "free market" or "anarchism", too.
Mind you, before another misunderstanding occurs - I have not read much about Jimbos political views except _that_ he is libertarian, so that is not to be taken as a statement about him, but only about the problems with understanding libertarianism as I encountered and know others did, too.
