Hi again,
I asked earlier about this but I'm not quite sure whether it was clear
what I wanted. I have a MediaWiki 1.4.7 installation and a Bugzilla 2.20
installation. Right now, if a user clicks onto a Bugzilla link in the
wiki the standard Bugzilla interface appears, which looks entirely
different from the wiki. To make everything look uniform, I'd like to
use the same CGI scripts that are used for Mediazilla (I assume
Mediazilla is just some modifications to the original Bugzilla Perl
scripts, right?).
Where can I get the modified scripts that give Bugzilla the MediaWiki look?
Thanks,
Mirko
Hi,
I am having this problem with my wiki (http://indlinux.org/wiki) ,
where if two usernames login from same IP address, the usernames get
autoblocked. what could be the solution? do i have some settings
wrong? typically to prevent spam, we have captcha implemented at
login time.

Is there an document around that describes searching Mediawiki? I notice
some strange results on our corporate wikis running on 1.5.
For example, one article contains the words "Best" and "Information". If I
search the wiki for "information", the article is returned. Search for
"best", and it is not. Letter case doesn't seem to be the issue.
I notice this with other words, as well. Is there like a common word list
that Mediawiki disregards because of queries returning too many results?
Thanks
Andrew

I apologise if this has already been discussed, but I did a search of
the archives and didn't find anything, so I'll ask it here.
I have recently begun working with MediaWiki, and have noticed that my
Categories page is actually ordered by order of creation, not
alphabetically as everything I've read indicates it should be. Does
anyone know how to fix this? I'd love to be able to edit the the
organisation of that page to some sort of logical progression, but
barring that, alphabetical is at least much better than creation
order.
Please send replies directly to this address, as I am not subscribed

I want to install SMF and Mediawiki within the same database. Using different
prefixes for the forum and the wiki will be ok?
Also is there a way for the forum and the wiki to have common usernames /
passwords?
Panos
i can't get it working:
i have this in my Localsettings.php:
# Testing Namespace
$wgExtraNamespaces =
array(100 => "testnamespace",
101 => "testnamespace_talk"
);
# restrict access to this extra-namespace
$wgRestrictedNamespaces =
array(100 => "testgroup",
101 => "testgroup"
);
# allow only 'sysop' and 'testgroup' for restrictedNamespace 'testnamespace'
$wgGroupPermissions['sysop']['testgroup'] = true;
$wgGroupPermissions['testgroup']['testgroup'] = true;
This should allow only users in the sysop and testgroup access to the pages in testnamespace.
But, if i create a page with this link [[testnamespace:Restriction_Test]]
i can view and edit it as a normal (new created) testuser.
have i missed something?

Sorry but any assistance gratefully accepted. I am very new to this and
trying to set up a number of wikis on the one site. All of them will
deal with the same topic they are just in different languages. I have
been playing around with it for a while but seem to just keep breaking
it. I also found this article but I am having some problems following
it.
How do I create a small wiki farm?
After copying the mediawiki source tree in /opt/mediawiki/ you need to
run something like:
mkdir .../wiki
cd .../wiki
mkdir images
ln -s /opt/mediawiki/languages /opt/mediawiki/maintenance \
/opt/mediawiki/skins /opt/mediawiki/redirect.php .
cp -a /opt/mediawiki/config/ .
chown www-data: config/
cp /opt/mediawiki/index.php index.php
Then add /opt/mediawiki to the commands which set the include_path in
config/index.php and add something like this to the main index.php:
ini_set( "include_path", "/opt/mediawiki:." ); # line added
require_once( 'includes/Defines.php' ); # this line used to include
'./includes/Defines.php'
* make sure your webserver can read from /opt/mediawiki
What I have done so far.
Mkdir mediawiki //Placed all the mediawiki files into this
directory
Created directories for
French
Danish
Spanish
German
Using root directory for English
Created symbolic links for all files and directories in /mediawiki in
each language based directory
Ran the installation process for each language based wiki and moved
LocalSettings.php
For each wiki I am using a separate database as when I tried to use one
database with prefixes it did not work - It would not show appropriate
languages for each wiki but got stuck on one.
The only settings that different in each of the wiki's is basically the
languagecode and databasename. I have tried moving nearly all the
settings from the LocalSettings.php to a CommonSettings.php file and
calling it with an include_once statement but this just seems to break
things also.
Can anyone give me some very simple instructions on how to do this.
Thanks
Laurie
Hello,
I hope this request for help isn't too 'off-list'. I have setup a LAMP
server in a chrooted environment and mediawiki (latest release) is working
except it can not find the GD libraries (which I have in the chrooted
environment).
/jail/www/usr/lib/libgd.a
/jail/www/usr/lib/libgd.la
/jail/www/usr/lib/libgd.so.2.0.0
/jail/www/usr/lib/libgd.so -> libgd.so.2.0.0
/jail/www/usr/lib/libgd.so.2 -> libgd.so.2.0.0
/jail/www/usr/lib/libjpeg.so.62.0.0
/jail/www/usr/lib/libjpeg.so.62 -> libjpeg.so.62.0.0
/jail/www/usr/lib/libpng12.so.0.1.2.8
/jail/www/usr/lib/libpng12.so.0 -> libpng12.so.0.1.2.8
/jail/www/usr/lib/libpng.so -> libpng12.so.0.1.2.8
/jail/www/usr/lib/libpng.so.3 -> libpng12.so.0.1.2.8
(all of these were taken from /usr/lib)
I was hoping someone might have an idea as to what I'm doing wrong.

Hi!
I use MediaWiki 1.5 and spanish language; I've a problem with anonymous read permission. If I write this lines in LocalSettings.php, an anonymous user will view all the following pages exception Especial:Search, SiMiDa:General_disclaimer and SiMiDa:Acerca_de. why anonymous user can view all except this 3 pages??
$wgGroupPermissions['*' ]['read'] = false;
$wgWhitelistRead = array ("Portada","SiMiDa:Miembros","SiMiDa:Lineas","SiMiDa:Publicaciones","SiMiDa:Proyectos",
"SiMiDa:Seminarios", "SiMiDa:Enlaces", "SiMiDa:Docencia", "SiMiDa:KEEL",
"SiMiDa:Ayuda","SiMiDa:Acerca_de", "Especial:Search", "Especial:Userlogin", "SiMiDa:General_disclaimer");
The names of the pages are correctly written. And registered users can view all pages.
Thanks from Spain!!!

Hi, all:
I installed WK1.5 in Fedora 3 box.
As system admin, I receive email about the wiki email confirmation delivery
error.

I guess that is some problem with the sendmail configuration.
But is there any way I can modify with MW itself?
