$wgDBtransactions gets set to true if using InnoDB tables. Is there
an advantage to using InnoDB tables?
The disadvantage is that with MySQL there is a file, ibdata1, that
seems to grow endlessly if InnoDB tables are used. See
http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=1341
We're wondering if we should just convert everything to MyISAM. Any
thoughts?

Hi,
Is there a way to ensure that a template is included in all pages of a
particular namespace? I'd like to use our mediawiki to allow people to
annotate some things in a biology project, and the wiki URLs will be
generated automatically by an external program.
Thanks,
Matthew

Hi, I removed the LocalSettings.php to another folder so that eventually,
all my websites can share one common Mediawiki software, rather than
repeating it for each website.
I put the Mediawiki software in folder "Commonsoftware". How do I change the
$IP in LocalSettings so that it points to the folder "Commonsoftware"? I
tried $IP = "../Commonsoftware;" but it is not working.

Hello,
I'd like to modify the edition buttons (the buttons you have above the
edition frame when you modify a page), to remove the date from the
signature button, and keep only the name.
It works manually when removing one of the '~' from the signature added
(the button adds --~~~~), so I'm trying to find where the javascript for
the buttons comes from.

Mediawiki version - 1.16.0 (r74364)
I have been running some experiments in moving pages to a newly created
Archive namespace. I created some test pages and moved two with redirects and
two without redirects, so that I could look for unwanted side-effects. I also
marked those four pages with __NOINDEX__. Up to that point everything seemed
fine.
A new category was automatically created - Noindexed_pages. All four of the
pages now in the Archive namespace bear a link to that category, yet when I
use the link I find that only one of the four pages is listed.
Is this a bug, or have I missed something important?

New to KDE Software? - get help from http://userbase.kde.org
Hi,
I just created a new wiki at http://linuxlea.free.fr/linux/wiki. Is seems to
work, but I can't create an account. Error message is
"Login error
There seems to be a problem with your login session; this action has been
canceled as a precaution against session hijacking. Go back to the previous
page, reload that page and then try again."
Of course I tried to do that, but it does not work.
It also tells me : "You must have cookies enabled to log in to Linuxlea."
But in Firefox 3.6.3 under Debian Squeeze, there is no option for cookies in
privacy tab. So I tried with Konqueror, cookies enabled, but I obtain the same
error message.

Hi there:
I got this error of my website recently: When I login and click "edit", the
error message pop up:
----
A database query syntax error has occurred. This may indicate a bug in the
software. The last attempted database query was:
(SQL query hidden)
from within function "IndexPager::reallyDoQuery (LogPager)". MySQL returned
error "1146: Table 'nicawebsite.nica_tag_summary' doesn't exist (127.0.0.1)"
----
Then I google this error message and find out the solotion:
http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/wiki/wikitech/170529
So I run "php update.php" in /maintenance, only get this :
----
MediaWiki 1.15.1 Updater
A connection to the database could not be established. Check the
values of $wgDBadminuser and $wgDBadminpassword.
----
I am quite sure the values are correct in Localsettings.php
How can i fix this?
