Hi, I'm trying to use Wikibase on my pool wiki and language wikis. In my pool wiki, I can create properties and items, but I can't add site links to them. ID: "Q1", site id: "cswiki", site link: "article name" gives me the error "The specified article could not be found on the corresponding site." even though that article exists on cswiki. I also can't access data from the language wikis. If I use {{#property:P1}} in an article on cswiki, nothing shows up. I downloaded Wikidata-refs-heads-master.tar.gz and extracted it to the extension folder of my pool wiki and language wikis. I noticed that the script path is "/w/$1" here, while $wgScriptPath in LocalSettings.php is actually "/w", could that cause any problems? And should I change site_group of the pool to mypedia like I did with the language wikis or isn't that necessary? Wikibase DataModel 0.8, Wikibase Repository 0.5 alpha, WikibaseLib 0.5 alpha and Wikidata show up in Special:Version of the pool wiki. Wikibase Client 0.5 alpha, Wikibase DataModel 0.8, WikibaseLib 0.5 alpha and Wikidata show up in Special:Version of the language wikis. Any help would be really appreciated! Thanks and cheers, Till

File descriptions aren't fetched

Hi, I'm running multiple language wikis and one pool wiki. The problem is that no file descriptions are fetched in the language wikis although $wgFetchCommonsDescriptions is set to true. LocalSettings.php of the language wikis: $wgUseSharedUploads = true; $wgSharedUploadPath = 'http://pool.example.com/w/images'; $wgSharedUploadDirectory = '/path/to/pool/w/images/'; $wgHashedSharedUploadDirectory = true; $wgFetchCommonsDescriptions = true; $wgSharedUploadDBname = 'poolwiki'; # DB-Name of PoolWiki #$wgSharedUploadDBprefix = 'wiki_'; # Table name prefix for PoolWiki $wgRepositoryBaseUrl = "http://pool.example.com/wiki/Image:"; ForeignAPIRepo used to work fine before, but since I switched from Apache to Nginx, no images show up anymore in the language wikis. cldr not installing properly

I am attempting to install cldr. In previous installations, I have not had any issues with this extension and is currently live at wiki.seg.org. When working on updating the Mediawiki software from 1.23.2 to 1.26.2, after installing several other extensions, I get this message in the command prompt when attempting to update the database after installing cldr. MediaWiki:Common.js not saving

I think I asked about this before and not sure how to resolve this issue. Before it was on a server I was using as a test server. Now I'm running MediaWiki 1.26.2 Php 5.6 When I try to save the MediaWiki:Common.js I get an error This webpage is not available ERR_CONNECTION_ABORTED I refresh and it goes back to edit mode with &action=submit I tried with deferent skins etc I don't see any other mediawiki errors. Translate extension and Apertium

I have set up the Translate extension on my wiki. Everything works well except that the machine translation is very inconsistent. On some articles it will show the Apertium translation, but the majority of articles the box stays empty (only showing the "Add documentation" button). Does anyone know why this might be and how I could fix it so the machine translation appears for each unit? VirtualEditor: Error loading data from server: 404: parsoidserver-http: HTTP 404

Environment: OS: Ubuntu 14.04.4 LTS MediaWiki: 1.26.2 wiki url: http://intranet.hit.local/wiki-hitit/ parsoid listener port: 8142 After a good day of trying to set up VirtualEditor, the above error is still with us. I've found several articles about this issue, but none that helped. Is the url/uri definition correct? (All examples I found used simple urls.) Are there any log files I can check? Need advice fixing corrupted revision history

This is a somewhat complex problem so bear with me, I'll try to describe it as concisely as possible. Background: I'm in the process of updating a large (20k pages), old (started ca 2004) MediaWiki site. It was running MediaWiki 1.18.3 and I thought a good first step would be to update the site to the 1.19.x LTS version, which I did (with the plan of moving to 1.23.x in March). Extensions were updated as well. Everything seemed stable and pre-upgrade backups were not kept after a month of no problem reports (big mistake, I know!) There are nightly backups but only a week's worth are kept for storage reasons. However, I have located some very old (3 year+) database backups. The site admins use a MW extension called "merge-and-delete" to deal with spammers. There is a permanent, blocked user called "spammer" and any time a new user account is created by a spammer, the editors merge- and-delete that account into the "spammer" account. There are < 100 real editors on the site and this process kept them from being overwhelmed by the thousands of spammers creating accounts on the site in recent years. The Problem About a month after the 1.19.x update, a problem was discovered. Somehow, all edits dated 2011 or earlier were altered such that they are now credited to the "spammer" user rather than the actual user who made the edits. The cause of the corruption appears to be a bug/problem related to the merge-and-delete extension and MW 1.19. I'm not seeking help for that here - I have turned off and removed the extension. My problem is: how to restore the edit history so that edits are credited to the correct users again. The timestamp and page names of all edits are still correct, only the user name was corrupted. But the only backup old enough to have uncorrupted edit history data is years old and from a much older version of MW (maybe 1.16). And I need to fix the problem without losing years of edits. The Solution? I can't see any easy fix for this. But I have thought of an approach that might work. If I write a bot that reads the very old database, extracts only <=2011 edit history, and then compares that data to the corrupted live site, perhaps it could work its way through the edit history making corrections. Does this seem plausible? And, if so, any advice on what to look out for? If anyone has alternate suggestions, I'm up for entertaining just about any idea on how to fix this. -Steve

Some emails, but not watchlist, are working

Hi folks. I had a great time trying to get email working with our intranet mediawiki since pear is blocked, but I got authentication and password reset sending messages out. Unfortunately the watchlist notifications aren't working. $wgEnotifWatchlist is true in LocalSettings.php, and notifications are checked in my preferences. Any ideas? Thanks.

& or %26 in querystring

Hello, I am working with GraphViz extension using ImageMap extension. I want to give some nodes some wiki links with a query string to purge. Sample: Https://....index.php?title=PageToCall&action=purge Typing the link in the browser works fine as expected. The problem here is, that GraphViz creates an error with the "&". Https://....index.php?title=PageToCall&action=purge Using "&" works fine in GraphViz, but MW don't do the purge. Any idea for solution?

Announcing: EMWCon, May 25-27, 2016 in New York City

Hello, I'm pleased to announce the Enterprise MediaWiki Conference, or EMWCon, which will be happening in just about three months, from May 25-27, in New York, NY, USA. This will be a three-day conference devoted to all topics, technical and non-technical, related to the use of MediaWiki by companies and other organizations. This is the first-ever EMWCon, and more generally it is, as far as I know, the first-ever large-scale meeting covering the general use of MediaWiki outside of Wikimedia projects. Which is somewhat surprising, given that, even outside of its use on Wikipedia et al., MediaWiki is almost unquestionably the world's most popular wiki software. EMWCon spun out of SMWCon, or the Semantic MediaWiki Conference - and I expect that Semantic MediaWiki will be a topic of discussion, although non-SMW users are equally encouraged to attend, and should find the event equally productive. I'm very much looking forward to this conference and to the types of discussions that will ensue.
