cleaning out a mass of unwanted users

Hello everyone, I was careless enough to run a MediaWiki installation allowing people to sign up without a moderator's approval. Hence a few hundred of them did sign up and started to use the site to swap images. How can I delete their accounts in the most expeditious way? Thanks. Boris.

translatewiki.net ending localisation support for svn.wikimedia.org MediaWiki extensions

Dear all, Starting October 1, 2012, translatewiki.net will drop support for all MediaWiki extensions it currently supports that still remain in the Subversion repository svn.wikimedia.org. Many, if not all of the extensions that by that time have not been migrated to git/Gerrit, are clearly not that well maintained and we want to prevent our translators from spending their time on it. At the moment, a maximum of 273 extensions are affected. Characters displaying incorrectly

Hello: When searching for the word cliché in my wiki, the search results return pages that have the word in it but it looks like clichÃ© instead of cliché. This is happening with other words and phrases that use characters like: single quotation mark, double quotation mark, apostrophe, en dash, em dash, accent acute, accent grave, tilde, umlaut, etc. What is the best way to fix this? I'm running: MediaWiki: 1.10.2 (r356) PHP: 5.2.17 (cgi) MySQL: 5.0.90-log Thanks, Patricia Barden

Download links are given at the end of this email. * Wikipedia administrator Writ Keeper discovered a stored XSS (HTML injection) vulnerability. This was possible due to the handling of link text on File: links for nonexistent files. MediaWiki 1.16 and later is affected. For more details, see <https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39700> * User Fomafix reported several DOM-based XSS vulnerabilities, made possible by a combination of loose filtering of the uselang parameter, and JavaScript gadgets on various language Wikipedias. For more details, see <https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37587> * During internal review, it was discovered that CSRF tokens, available via the api, were not protected with X-Frame-Options headers. This could lead to a CSRF vulnerability if the API response is embedded in an external website using an iframe. This allowed users blocked by the GlobalBlocking extension to create accounts. Hi I am using Mediawiki on my localhost. Though it works flawlessly on the localhost but creates problem on other PCs connected to network (LAN). The webpages are not displayed properly (only text is visible without style or formatting). I have given a link below where you can see the issue. Collection extension PHP code execute problem

I already tried that: All other Icons (SEMANTIC Mediawiki and POSEIDON) are going away. The one I Placed there is not showing up either.
