Hi,
I would like to lock main structure of my pages to prevent edits, and
editing locked pages.
I can lock pages one-by-one.
How can I lock more pages with one quick step?
Best regards,
Gabor

Ok thanks for the answers! But I don't understand a nut about
$wgNamespaceProtection, is there an example to allow all registered
users to just be able to edit talk tabs?
Thanks you

Hi,
It is difficult to create LDAP groups, because of bureaucracy (in my firm I
should write a lot of mails an so on... to set some LDAP groups in Microsoft
AD).
I want to set readers, authors and sysops groups, and synchronizing these
with User Names come from AD.
How can I do this? Please help me!
Best regards,

Welcome to mediawiki-l. This mailing list exists for discussion and questions
about the MediaWiki software[0]. Important MediaWiki-related announcements
(such as new versions) are also posted to this list.
Other resources.
If you only wish to receive announcements, you should subscribe to
mediawiki-announce[1] instead.
MediaWiki development discussion, and all Wikimedia technical questions, should
be directed to the wikitech-l[2] mailing list.
Several other MediaWiki-related lists exist:
- mediawiki-api[5] for API discussions,
- mediawiki-enterprise[6] for discussion of MediaWiki in the enterprise,
- mediawiki-cvs[7] for notification of commits to the Subversion repository,

Posting to the list.
Before posting to this list, please read the MediaWiki FAQ[10]. Many common
questions are answered here. You may also search the list archives to see if
your question has been asked before.
Please try to ask your question in a way that enables people to answer you.
Provide all relevant details, explain your problem clearly, etc. You may
wish to read [13], which explains how to ask questions well.
To post to the list, send mail to <mediawiki-l(a)lists.wikimedia.org>. This is a
public list, so you should not include confidential information in mails you
send.
When replying to an existing thread, use the "Reply" or "Followup" feature of
your mail client, so that clients that understand threading can sort your
message properly. When quoting other messages, please use the "inline" quoting
style[11], for clarity.
When creating a new thread, do not reply to an existing message and change the
subject. This will confuse peoples' mail readers, and will result in fewer
people reading your mail. Instead, compose a new message for your post.
Messages posted to the list have the "Reply-To" header set to the mailing list,
which means that by default, replies will go to the entire list. If you are
posting a reply which is only interesting to the original poster, and not the
list in general, you should change the reply to only go to that person. This
avoids cluttering the list with irrelevant traffic.

Hi,
I installed a new 1.11.0 wiki and I see the following error after
installation: PHP Fatal error: Only variables can be passed by
reference in C:\Inetpub\testwiki\includes\LinkBatch.php on line 163
First time I see that and my 1.10.X wikis are working fine.
I got this before installing:
* PHP 5.0.5 installed
* Found database drivers for: MySQL
* PHP server API is cgi-fcgi; using ugly URLs (index.php?title=Page_Title)
* Have XML / Latin1-UTF-8 conversion support.
* Warning: A value for session.save_path has not been set in PHP.ini.
If the default value causes problems with saving session data, set it
to a valid path which is read/write/execute for the user your web
server is running under.
* PHP is configured with no memory_limit.
* Couldn't find Turck MMCache, eAccelerator, APC or XCache; cannot use
these for object caching.
* GNU diff3 not found.
* Found GD graphics library built-in, image thumbnailing will be
enabled if you enable uploads.
* Installation directory: C:\Inetpub\testwiki
* Script URI path: /testwiki
* Installing MediaWiki with php file extensions
* Environment checked. You can install MediaWiki.
Any idea?
Thanks!
Simon
I have now tracked down the cause of this. The new php.ini file writes
session.save_path as your profile %tmp% path, which on windows is rarely
writable by the application. This needs to be changed to something PHP
and IIS can use such as c:\windows\temp., while it is being done it is
best to reset upload_tmp_dir as well.
Once done and the server rebooted the wiki is back to normal.

Subject: Problem after upgrading to PHP Version 5.2.5
I have just upgraded my web server from 5.0.2 and now my wiki appears to
be broken.
It displays content fine as far as I can tell. However in Firefox when I
hut save after editing a page I'm taken to Preview and can't saved the
edit whatever I try. When I try the same thing with IE7 just tells me
that The page can not be displayed.
I have the extended editing buttons from Wikipedia installed on my
wiki and I'm wondering if anyone has made js edit buttons to do
ordered or unordered lists.

Sandy:
Here is what you would need to do:
First, you'll need to allow external images to be displayed in your
wiki. To do this, in your localsettings.pgp file, set
$wgAllowExternalImages = true;
Then, the code to place on your page would be something like this:
[http://www.maploco.com/view.php?id=1234567http://www.maploco.com/vmap/1234567.png]
[http://www.maploco.com/ Create your own visitor map!]

Hello !
Is there a way to run the rebuild links via a special page ?
Like the "delete old revision" script.
I don't have access to console on my shared host.
Thanks in advance
