Hi all,
The (notable ;) German IT magazine "iX" has just published a four page article
about Semantic MediaWiki in its November issue [1], out now on German
bookstalls. Absolutely no interaction from our side, but still nice and
fairly accurate. Naturally, it covers SMW0.7 and is in German.
A more technical, English, and fully public journal article on SMW1.0 is going
to appear in the Journal of Web Semantics later this year. You can find it
online at [2]. (Wiki researchers: that's the right thing to cite on SMW
now ;-)
All apologies for the spam,
Markus

Hi,
I'd like to change the default-searchtype for my wiki from article-search (=
Go-Button) to fulltext-search (=search-button), so that when a user enters a
search word and hits enter the fulltext-search is performed.
I've found exactly this question in the mailinglist-archiv but there was no
working solution given, so I decided to ask again.
Thanks
Kate
Hi,
We have our MW running on linux/Apache. User login to PCs is based on MS
Active Directory. Currently I'm using the LDAPAuthentication extension
for MW and it's working fine.
Can anyone plz tell me how to use the LDAPNTLMAuthentication plugin? I
guess I need some Apache module called mod_ntlm.so for that, right?
Where can I get that? Or is it necessary to compile that?

Hi all,
A day or two ago, I was having trouble with installing the GeSHi
extension for Debian 4.0. I finally "succeeded" -- it works, but the
"Debian way" of using the Debian packages didn't work for me. i.e., I
couldn't get "mediawiki-extensions" with "php-geshi" to work.
So, I did it the standard way and just ignored these Debian packages.
Thanks, and sorry for the trouble!
Ray
Thanks for the help.
This did the trick....................hurrayyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Hi Jack,
perhaps you should try to set username and password to "".
That works for me.
You may also need to verify that the mailserver you want to use will accept and send out mails for your wiki-server-IP-address.

Hi,
I tried to use my own mediawiki for giving PDF file to another software. I
simply tried to use PDFExport for it. The external software give the
appropriate URL to PdfExport.php and the PDF is ready.
If user rights is default there is no problem.
After I changed the user rights (see below), there is not any content in the
generated PDF file, except the navigation menu on the left-hand side of the
wiki's page.
I set the user rights:
$wgGroupPermissions['*' ]['read'] = false;
$wgGroupPermissions['user' ]['read'] = true;
$wgWhitelistRead = array("Main Page", 'Special:PdfPrint',
'Special:Userlogin',);
How can I get the whole content of the page? Can I somehow change the USER
ID in the PdfExport.php? Any other solution?
Someone, plz help me with this...
Regards,
Jack

I have configured our Exchange mail server as the smtp server on my
local Windows machine where I have XAMPP installed. I usually test MW on
this machine and the email features works fine. But the actual wiki site
runs on a linux server. There mail is not working. (but I have other
applications like Moodle on the same linux server which send out mails).
In my localsettings.php, I added
$wgSMTP = array(
'host' => "mail.suntecsbs.com",
'IDHost' => "suntecgroup.com", //I don't know wht to add here.....
'port' => 25,
'auth' => false,
'username' => "jackec",
'password' => "mypassword"
);

Jack,
Is there an SMTP server you can use? That should be all you need.
Boris.

When replying to an existing thread, use the "Reply" or "Followup" feature of
your mail client, so that clients that understand threading can sort your
message properly. When quoting other messages, please use the "inline" quoting
style[11], for clarity.
When creating a new thread, do not reply to an existing message and change the
subject. This will confuse peoples' mail readers, and will result in fewer
people reading your mail. Instead, compose a new message for your post.
Messages posted to the list have the "Reply-To" header set to the mailing list,
which means that by default, replies will go to the entire list. If you are
posting a reply which is only interesting to the original poster, and not the

avoids cluttering the list with irrelevant traffic.
