Hi,
I've still got a problem with a page named "Inhaltsverzeichnis W:\PC Inst" that
I've tried to delete or move a few times but it still shows up in the different
lists (e.g. Special:All pages).
I guess the reason lies with the backslash "\" in the page name, which btw
doesn't show up in the pagetitle when I click on the page in Special:All pages.
The page shows up as deleted, but will not disappear from the lists. :-(
Is there a way to "really" kill pages like that and how do I go about it?
I've seen nukePage.php in the readme-file from maintenance, but I'm not really
sure how to use it and if it would solve my problem.
Thanks
Kate
How can I set the default history diff to show the entire section being
edited left and right, not just the few lines surrounding displayed
differences?
In the history, the differences come up nice in yellow, green, and red,
and the same / same (no difference) comes up in gray.
I'd like to show the entire contents, left and right, even though it
might be all gray.
That way, readers can immediately make decisions based on what they are
seeing and reading, rather than try to mentally take note of the
differences (or not) out of total context, and then have to toggle back
and forth between the article (or the "current version" below).
==
Example:
http://www.mediawiki.org/w/index.php?title=Help%3AEditing_pages&diff=120
468&oldid=86016
Note the terse report in the differences at the top versus the rather
large "current version" below. I'd prefer to show the entire contents
left and right at the top, and cancel the "current version" below
altogether.

Any ideas? Where in MediaWiki we can control the amount of info
included in a diff?
Thanks!
Hi,
I have set user rigths in the LocalSetting.php (Anonymous users cannot read
or edit any other page, but can still create accounts):
$wgGroupPermissions['*' ]['read'] = false;
$wgGroupPermissions['user' ]['read'] = true;
$wgWhitelistRead = array("Main Page", 'Special:Userlogin',);
Despite of this settings, not logged-in Users cannot read any pages of my
MW.
The installed language of my MW is hungarian. I tried to use the hungarian
names of the pages ( $wgWhitelistRead = array('Kezdőlap',
'Speciális:Userlogin') ), but it could not solve the problem.
Could the problem be the coding of the charachters? For example 'Kezdőlap'
(= Main page) seems like this in my browser: 'Kezd%C5%91lap'.
What could be the solution?
Please write me soon.
Regards,
Gábor
Hi,
Our MW is in our intranet and used by company staff only. Authentication
is done thru LDAPAuthentication plugin against MS AD. I would like MW to
consider all email IDs as confirmed automatically and don't want the
users to go thru the confirmation process. How can I do that? Can I
insert some default value to the relevent columns of the user table for
the existing users?

Hi,
in our wiki, no. of users are very limited- 300 or so. Is anyone
developed some function to show a combobox in MW forms which will list
all the usernames from which one can be selected? i would like to have
this in user right forms, task extension, etc. otherwise, how can one
remember the exact usernames and type in correctly?

We have three wiki's that we use to deliver internal documentation, each
of them have a category of 'Forms' in which we list forms used by staff,
is there an easy way of having a page in one of more of the wiki's that
append these three pages together either as below, I don't want to group
them together as it is possible there may be forms with the same name in
different wiki's

Hi,
I can't change the number of days shown in recent changes inside the user
preferences the way I want to (e.g. 30) - my wiki will only accept single
numbers up to 7, even though .
Is this a bug or is there a place where I can change the default?
Thanks
Kate

I don't think something which worked fine had a bug. Simply, MedaWiki
has changed its behaviour.

I much prefer to encourage editing than viewing. Anyway, they are
not incompatible and MediaWiki could offer _both_. I've tried EditAtLogin
out, which does that, but unfortunately I've had some problems. I'll
continue investigating.

Sadly...I don't feel like I know SQL and the Mediawiki database schema well enough to take that approach just yet.
If the is a maintinence script that will straighten this out...i would like to know.
Do you recommend that I try the "maintenance/namespaceDupes.php" script and see?
continued thanks,

Seems a simple UPDATE SET *_namespace = New_NS_Number WHERE *_namespace
= Old_NS_Number; for every table and field ending in _namespace
There's maintenance/namespaceDupes.php but i don't know if it would
handle the pages in inexistent namespaces in the desired way.
