Hey all,
Thanks in advance for your help.
I have a page with the following content (main page) and when I try it, it
reduces automatically the font size of the titles on the top of the pages
(the ones in the tabs (articles, modify, ...) as well as the classic left
menu. All the other pages of the wiki are OK.
I don't see how the code below could influence the way these boxes are
displayed...
Any hint?
Thanks in advance
Thomas

While trying to save a page edit, a user received the following error:
Does any one know how to correct this ?
A database query syntax error has occurred. This may indicate a bug in
the software. The last attempted database query was:

Hi.
I've wrongly created some pages with slashes on them (something like a/b/c). I
_thought_ I was creating subpages, because I thought I had them activated in
the main namespace, but they weren't activated. :-(
Now I want to activate them, and I'm afraid I screwed it. Any suggestion on
what to do? Can the subpages be activated with no problems, or should I move
or delete first the pages with slashes on them?
Thanks a lot.

Hi all!
Q1:
I have a PageA with two small section. Say:
===Title 1===
yadayadayadayadayadayadayadayadayada
===Title 2===
yadayadayadayadayadayadayadayadayada
Then I embedded this page in PageB (that hasn't any section) using the
syntax {{:PageA}}.
It works, (moreover, I can have for PageB a TOC accordingly if I place
more sections in PageA), but with a strange (?) effect on the [Edit] link
of the section originally in PageA.
In fact when I click on the Edit, I obtain such error message: "You tried
to edit a section that doesn't exist. Since there is no section 1,
there's no
place to save your edit."
Looking at the link related to edit, it states:
http://www.mysite.it/wiki/index.php?title=PageB&action=edit§ion=1
Probably this is an expected behaviour or I miss something or I made
a page embedding with wrong instruments...
Any hint? A page embedding best practice?
Q2: if I embed a PageC with no section in PageD, I embed the full page
content (of course, depending on noinclude, includeonly tags if are).
What I must do, if I would like the PageC title as section title of PageD
(i.e. mebedding the PageC title also)?
Thanks in advance
Giuseppe
I am struggling somewhat with some Canadian place names that include
extended characters.
I create a page through the standard MW UI and called it Saint-Étienne but
it arrives into the table (collated utf8-bin) with Saint-Étienne as the
page_title?!
This in turn is not accessible using the page_title to build the URL.
Can anyone tell me where I went wrong? I am hoping to find a way to prevent
this conversion of the characters.
Many thanks,
Paul
Let's say I have a v1.11 wiki at www.mydomain.com/wiki/Main_Page,
with source and all in /w as seems to be standard. I want to provide
users logged in to the wiki with a set of data management forms, say
at www.mydomain.com/maint/index.php (and other .php files under /
maint). I'd like to use the wiki login for /maint authentication, and
grab the username and userid to put in the database for auditing
purposes, as well as controlling access to the forms. In other words,
once users successfully log into the wiki, their session info is used
to control access by other .php scripts under the same domain.
I have very little php session experience, and so am not sure where
to start. Do my /maint .php files do a session_start(), and if so,
what cookies to I look for to get username and userid? Can I just
check for the username and userid cookies directly (and if so, what
are they called), or is that open to spoofing? I've looked at my own
Firefox cookies and see no PHPSESSID, so there must be some other
session id thingy somewhere.
I must be overlooking the obvious. Any help appreciated.
Hello,
I need to install CheckUser. I followed the instruction when I include
the extension in the localsettings then the site displays the contents
of the php file??
FYI I'm being spammed by some guy who apparently runs one of those
warcraft levels for money services. I was able to install the
SpamBlacklist but it only blocks keywords in url's. This works but then
he just come backs with new variations or domains.
Is there a way to block certain words like "warcraft" in all entries.
Thanks
Adrian
I tried to use my own mediawiki for giving PDF file to another software. I
simply tried to use PDFExport for it. The external software give the
appropriate URL to PdfExport.php and the PDF is ready.
If user rights is default there is no problem.
After I changed the user rights (see below), there is not any content in the
generated PDF file, except the navigation menu on the left-hand side of the
wiki's page.
I set the user rights:
$wgGroupPermissions['*' ]['read'] = false;
$wgGroupPermissions['user' ]['read'] = true;
$wgWhitelistRead = array("Main Page", 'Special:PdfPrint',
'Special:Userlogin',);
How can I get the whole content of the page? Can I somehow change the USER
ID in the PdfExport.php? Any other solution?
I have configured our Exchange mail server as the smtp server on my
local Windows machine where I have XAMPP installed. I usually test MW on
this machine and the email features works fine. But the actual wiki site
runs on a linux server. There mail is not working. (but I have other
applications like Moodle on the same linux server which send out mails).
In my localsettings.php, I added
$wgSMTP = array(
'host' => "mail.suntecsbs.com",
'IDHost' => "suntecgroup.com", //I don't know wht to add here.....
'port' => 25,
'auth' => false,
'username' => "jackec",
'password' => "mypassword"
);
Regards,
Jack

Jack,
Is there an SMTP server you can use? That should be all you need.
Boris.

Hi,
I've got a problem with a page named "Inhaltsverzeichnis W:\PC Inst" that I've
tried to delete or move a few times but it still shows up in Special:All pages.
I guess the reason lies with the \ in the page name, which btw doesn't show up
when I click on the page in Special:All pages. The page shows up as deleted, but
will not disappear from the list. :-(
Is there a way to "really" kill pages like that and how do I go about it? I've
seen nukePage.php in the readme-file from maintenance, but I'm not really sure
how to use it and if it would solve my problem.
Greetings Kate
