hi,
i just have a small question... is there any way that i could clear all
contents form my wiki without messing directly with DB? i mean some
3-click stuff :) (extension etc...)
thanx in advance for your answer
regards
I'd like to put up "pseudo-links" that when clicked, don't go to another
specified page, but rather do a search for some given text and present a
page of search results. Something like
"When talking about the [[Autosearch:Edit>Paste Paste]] control"
would show up as
"When talking about the Paste control"
and clicking on the Paste link would display the hits on a search of
"Edit>Paste" in the wiki.
Haven't been able to find anything yet, though.
Thanks,
Ken
In order to keep some control over the "look" of our site, we'd like to
restrict creating and editing of "Template:" pages to sysops; users
could request new templates, and if we were satisfied they were of
general interest, we'd create them, and document then on our template
documentation page.
I'm aware that there is no standard mechanism for assigning particular
access privileges based on namespace (we don't really want to use one of
the custom plugins unless it's pretty sure it will end up in the next
version of MW), but is there any "good" (semi-approved) way to
write-protect this particular namespace?
Thanks,
Ken
Hello everyone!
I am new at mediaWiki and I want to build/make my own SpecialPage. I heard,
that I must use hooks, but I don't know exactly what hooks are and how to
deal with them.
I would like if someone could explain to me those things about creating
SpecialPage.
Also I would need some good explanation on programming wiki. I am
programming in PHP for long, but when I'm looking through localy installed
mediaWiki code, a'm all confused.
Can you help me please?!.
Thanks!
Lp
Hi. I'm working around MediaWiki code and I have question about textvc.
If I calculate md5 hash directy from tex_string I obtain a different
md5 hash that texvc, example:
$texstring= '\sum_{3}=x';
$md5_texstring = md5($texstring);
$TEXVC_OUTPUT = `./texcv TMPDIR IMGDIR "$texstring" 'iso-8859-1'`;
...
print $md5_texstring."\n";
print $texvc_image_name."\n";

How can I obtain texvc md5 hash **before** run it?

Hello,
A couple of users on my wiki have been arguing, and it appears that one
of them has resorted to vandalizing the other person's Wikipedia page.
This suspected vandal always accesses my wiki from the same IP, and that
IP was associated with sexual comments that were added to the other
user's Wikipedia page.
I'd just like to know if this is good evidence of misconduct, of if a
savvy user could spoof someone else's IP address and frame them for
misconduct.
Thanks,

Hi,
Did try looking up this is what I found...
$wgLegalTitleChars = "
%!\"$&'()*,\\-.\\/0-9:;=?@A-Z\\\\^_`a-z~\\x80-\\xFF"; Unfortunately the
"+" sign still doesn't work.
Am a little slow with this.. :-D.....

The "+" character is valid in titles as of 1.6.0, but isn't enabled in
the default settings. You need to alter the regex which dictates
what's allowed. Before doing that, read the comments surrounding
$wgLegalTitleChars in includes/DefaultSettings.php (but don't alter
that file, copy the line to LocalSettings.php and amend it there).

things like updates to the site etc..?
