Hi all
I'd want to delete a user account on my wiki which is running MediaWiki 1.5 rc4 but I did not find any way to do this
in the Special Pages of SysOp !
Is there another way to do this ?
Thanks by advance
DC
Thanks, I am familiar with the gallery tags, but I was trying make this
automatic for my members. Maybe I will look into an extension.

Well, only categories have the magic property of being generated from a
"what links here" list; other pages have to be changed to add content to
them. So there's nothing you can do to an image which will make it
appear on anything other than a category. Instead, you'll just have to
add an image gallery to your userpage (or wherever) and update it
yourself - you might want to use the special <gallery> tags:

I saw someone on the mediawiki site answer a question about uploading files
and it said to check the php.ini file to see if file_uploads=On. Where would
this file be located?
Thanks,
Ryan
I am having trouble with the footer under IE. When there is a short
page, the left colum extends down the full length, but the footer and
body will be shorter leaving a large white space under the footer.
Easier seen than explained:
http://www.350z-tech.com/zwiki/Manual_Scans
Under firefox, the footer stays at the bottom of the page like it should
and the page looks fine. How can I fix this?
When I try to upload a image or document, I keep getting an internal error
declaring a failed open stream:
Could not copy file "/tmp/phpjRkZCj" to
"/lindev2o/texis/intelink/wiki.staging/images/temp/20050912145857!Upload_test.doc".
I used to get permission errors but I made the changes to the
DefaultSettings file (to get out of safe mode) as instructed on this page:
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Uploading_files. As anyone else experienced
this? There seems to be some access problems in the SpecialUpdate file.
Thanks,
Ryan
I mean to display a gallery of images I have uploaded, either on my
User:page, or on a subpage of that.

Why wouldn't categories work? Or do you mean to list pictures you've
uploaded?

With my work on Wikiwyg and other client-side apps for MediaWiki, I am
going to have to add to the special pages a method to retrieve
machine-readable data. The question is of course, what format?
I've gathered several posibilities I may use.
* XML - Some custom XML format specific to each page. (Plenty of
parsers. Kinda complex.)
* RDF/XML - Used RDF/XML to store the data. (Less parsers. Higher
complexity in overall system. Lower complexity in client software.)
* Custom format - Basically define a new syntax and write a parser (No
parsers. Really freakin' complex.)
Any input from other developers?

Hi Guys,
By default, the title of an article always matches its link name.
Is there a way to override this behavior?
For example, I'd like to have a URL that is like this:
http://mywiki/Virginia_State_Grade_1_Science_Curriculum
but have the title of the article be:
Grade 1 Science Curriculum
instead of
Virginia State Grade 1 Science Curriculum
Thanks!
Graham
Hello,
I have done some searching and cannot find whether or not there is a
bibliography snapin or module for mediawiki. I'm the webmaster of
multiverse.org <http://multiverse.org> a site dedicated to Michael Moorcock,
and we have a bibliography project coalescing. Our greatest desire is to be
able to sort on various bibliographic fields.
Can anyone help me find more information?
Thanks,
Berry Sizemore
P.S. There's going to be an Elric of Melnibone movie. :-)

I want to be able to upload a picture and tag it with [[User:Myname]]
and have that image automatically show up on my User page. I was
thinking this could be done in a similar way to the Category: image
tags.
Any ideas how this could be done?

Subject: [Mediawiki-l] Restricting random page from certin namespaces
I was wondering if it is possible to restrict the random page feature
from
going to certain namespace pages. Also, I don't know if it already only
goes
to pages in the main namespace. If so, can I make a special link for a
random page for a certain namespace. For example, "Random article",
"Random
talk page", etc. Thank you for any help you can give me, Shardsofmetal
