To remove the check box, remove this line from SpecialUpload.php:
<input tabindex=3 type=checkbox name=\"wpUploadAffirm\" value=\"1\"
id=\"wpUploadAffirm\">
And you'll also need to remove the check for it in the form processing,
in the same file:
if ( 1 != $wpUploadAffirm ) {
mainUploadForm( WfMsg( "noaffirmation" ) );
return;
}

Hi,
I was having trouble installing MediaWiki 1.3.2 about a week ago and never got it running. Now I'm trying to get MediaWiki 1.3.3 running and I'm getting the same errors. As Johan suggested in a post a today I made the following change;
>It started to work when I altered this line in $local from
>require_once( \"DefaultSettings.php\" );
>to
>require_once( \"includes/DefaultSettings.php\" );
I also turned register globals to off. The error report I get is as follows.
Please help if you can.
Thanks
Rich

c.. Have XML / Latin1-UTF-8 conversion support.
d.. PHP's memory_limit is 16M. If this is too low, installation may fail! Attempting to raise limit to 20M... ok.
e.. Have zlib support; enabling output compression.
f.. Found GD graphics library built-in, image thumbnailing will be enabled if you enable uploads.

Greetings gurus,
How can I turn off the upload affirmation check box in v1.2.6?
Our installation is within an intranet, so removing the affirmation makes
sense as it is a non-public zone.
Best Regards,
JT
I finally figured out why imagemagick wasn't working properly in my windows 2K development environment.
It was simple: I needed to put the path in single quotes so the backtics wouldn't be replaced by PHP at runtime.
I put the executable in c:\imagemagick, so the correct path looks like this:
$wgImageMagickConvertCommand = 'c:\imagemagick\convert.exe';
Thanks to everyone who offered their help and input on this.

Hi,
maybe this is one "left over" from the 1.3.2 buglist:
If I loot at [...]index.php/MediaWiki:Lastmodifiedby,
I have a german language text. But on
[...]index.php/Spezial:Allmessages, there is still the english text
displayed. And even on the pages, the footer text (with $wgMaxCredits =
2;), which comes from MediaWiki:Lastmodifiedby, is displayed in english,
not in german.
???
Thanks, Thommie

I might recomend disabling safe mode in PHP. I know that messes with a
lot of options. It probably is why you can't raise the memory limit,
either.
