Hello everyone,
I have set up two geonotices for Wikipedia editors in South Africa.
I would like to know if some one could check to see if when logged in as a user on Wikipedia a banner add is displayed for either of the two events on 1st September in Cape Town? The two events are the AGM at 10am and the Wiki Loves Monuments launch at 3:30pm for 4pm.
I would also like to get feedback on whether the two events should remain on two separate banner adds or if this is confusing and they should rather be merged into one banner add?
Currently I am in China and so I can not check to see what access Wikipedia is like in South Africa.
Cheers,
A quick note on geonotices (that I only just realised), they are only visible through the 'watchlisthttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Watchlist?action=purge' page on Wikipedia.

That's quite a pity! I guess we'll get hardcore editors only then.

Via that banner add system unfortunately yes. BTW, does it work?
This weekend (between the OSF grant application and the other preporations for WLM and Wikimania 2015) I want to see about setting some thing up on a different banner system and getting invites to people on their user pages.
Cheers,
Douglas.

Woohoo! Our banner ad is up, and even outside the watchlist area! I like the pictures!
It only shows if you're logged in, though.

Great to hear it is up. Eventually I had to go another rout to get it setup. Because we only have one banner add that advertises both the AGM and the launch I though it best to make it visible to logged in people across all the Wikis. I did not want to run the risk of us having members of the public (non Wikipedians) show up at the AGM. That might be a bit awkward.
My understanding is that there will be a universal banner for WLM on throughout September so I haven't lined up an add for that. However I would like to get everyone's opinion on that as to whether or not I should setup a ZA specific banner add for WLM throughout September?
Cheers,
Douglas.
