Hello Thelma
How happy am I to hear of potentially interested members! Currently we only have fourteen members, so the fact that there are seven people interested in joining the chapter makes me very happy. Unfortunately David Richfield manages the members, so I am sure that he will register them. The meeting held on Saturday is only for current members of the chapter, but you are more than welcome to attend the launch afterwards. What exactly do you mean with portal for members?
Kind regards
Lourie

Good afternoon
A quick update regarding our meeting on Saturday. By now the details have been finalized and everything can be found on Meta: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_South_Africa/AGM1. Nobody showed interest in making use of electronic voting, as those who cannot attend the meeting made use of the proxy appointments. Some of these appointments have already been received. I will post these documents to the board list, as it contains private information that should not be placed on a public list. After the meeting we will report back to keep everyone updated on the discusses. Thank you to everyone who contributed to getting everything in place for this meeting.
Kind regards
Lourie
Good evening
Here is my promised email on the appointment of proxies for the upcoming annual general meeting. So far, only David Richfield, David Robert Lewis and Kerryn McKay showed interest in being represented by a proxy. I created the following form as a proposal to be used for this purpose: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_South_Africa/AGM1/Proxy_form. Please check it and let me know whether it is in order. I only included the items where actual voting will be required. The finalized version of this form will be required to be signed and emailed back to the board at least 24 hours before the meeting. When everyone is happy with the proposed form I will create a PDF and sent it to those required.
Kind regards
Lourie
Hi Blessing
I'm delighted to hear this. We will definitely use some help for the launch. Will they also be available for the rest of the competition milestone days?

That will give you a good time frame to fly in the morning and then leave the same evening. How does that sound? It will be best if you can arrange it yourself, because my time is limited. We will then reimburse you afterwards. Please do keep all receipts, as we must submit them to the Wikimedia Foundation. Thanks.

Hello everyone
I should have sent this yesterday, but forgot about it. Initially we did not have a venue for the AGM which is planned for next weekend, but Isla (thank you! :)) informed me yesterday that we are allowed to use Africa Centre for this purpose. The details have been added to the information page on Meta: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_South_Africa/AGM1#Details. Later today (probably tonight) I will send further information out about the meeting. If there are any questions, please contact me.
Kind regards
Lourie
Hello Tobias
This mail got lost somewhere in my mailbox. :( Thanks for the response. We will most probably sign it at the AGM next week in Cape Town. Any chance that you might be able to attend?
Kind regards
Lourie

Hello everyone (again)
As most of you probably already know, one of our main objectives for the AGM is to fill the currently vacant seats of the board. For this process, we will need director candidates for which the members can vote. If you are interesting in becoming a director of the chapter, please add your details to this page: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_South_Africa/Directors#Candidate_d…. This way the chapter members can learn a bit more about yourselves and have information to base their votes on. Please add this information as soon as possible, as the meeting is next weekend. Thank you.
Kind regards
Lourie
These should be a great event, big up to the WikimediaZA for such.

Thanks Komi. We will create a page on our website (http://wikilovesmonuments.co.za) that explains the treasure hunt and lists each of these sites. Will notify you as soon as it is online and check whether you are happy with it.

Hello everyone
Africa Centre offered to help us out in various ways until we can stand on our own feet. This includes helping us with communication and marketing tasks, limited administrative support, temporary fiscal agency and so forth. All of this will be only for a limited time and will help us mostly during WLM. Please see the attached MOU and let us know whether there are any problems with this. Due to our board not having the required amount of directors, they cannot really decide for the chapter regarding this. It will also be unfair not to include the rest of the chapter members in such a decision. So please, get involved, even if you just say yes or no to the proposal.
