Much time have passed from our annual general meeting (1 September), so sorry for only providing the minutes now: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_South_Africa/AGM1Minutes.
The minutes were completed sometime ago, but during Wiki Loves Monuments and everything it was sort of forgotten. The information on the Meta page was copied from the etherpad, hopefully without any major errors. Please ask if something is not clear.
I found this post to the chapters list interesting, so I'm forwarding
it here as well.

Subject: [Chapters] Europeana’s huge cultural dataset opens for re-use
Today we are publicly announcing that Europeana http://www.europeana.eu/portal/
has opened up its dataset of over 20 million cultural objects for free
re-use. This significant innovation has come about thanks to the
vision shown by all of you, the cultural heritage organisations that
make up Europeana
This release, by far the largest one-time dedication of cultural data
to the public domain using CC0, represents a real step change for
cultural organisations in open data access and it offers a new boost
to the digital economy as open data can fuel enterprise and create
opportunities for those in the creative industries.
Today’s press release: http://e2.ma/message/btwec/365c1c
Next week we will be further highlighting the news at the Open
Knowledge Festival in Helsinki.
We would be very grateful if you could help spread the news of what,
together, we have achieved with this step. Please communicate this
release widely, to bring it to the attention of policymakers,
politicians and the digital community. And we would appreciate seeing
this success highlighted on your own websites.

This is a call for volunteers for the Cape Town Wiki Loves Monuments upload
marathon. We need people to help assist participants in uploading
photographs and entering the competition.
The event will be held this coming Saturday on the 22nd September from
10:00 to 17:00. I will be there the whole time but other volunteers are
welcome to come and go as they please. The marathon will be held at the
Fringe's offices on 84 Commercial Street in Cape Town CBD,just off Roeland
Street and across the road from Fruit and Veg City.
Volunteers will need to bring their own computers/laptops unless otherwise
notified (I am hoping to rent some computers for the event).
Details can be found on the WLM website:
I have also attached a map of the location to this email.

Good evening everyone,it give me the pleasure to remind you that the our
job as volunteers or wikipedians in the Setswana Wikipedia page has not
been completed. This is to say during the contest held in Botswana these
year and last most of the articles where left as stubs (less content)
therefore i find it as a need to remind you that we should refer back to
the page www.tn.wikipedia.org to improve on the content of the
articles.Kindly i also invite all of you with any information to help
improve our articles and content page.
It was not all about a challenge ladie and gentleman rather it was a
volunteery work we chose to persue on,please ladies and gentleman we are
encouraged to continue editing on the local page of the Setswana wikipedia
in order to bring or share information with rest of internet users, people
are eager for reading, they need our efforts to help them get information
at hand. One more advice encourage your friends to register or sign up in
the page for them to be able to contribute to wikipedia projects such as
wikipedi,wikimedia commons etc.
The mandate why Google and Wikimedia Foundation in partnership with
Wikimedia Kenya to have initiatate such a contest (Setswana Wikipedia
Challenge) was to re-establish a permenant chapter that woul be able to
host some wikipedia projects hence bring information to people on the Ciber
world. We looking forward to see Botswana having its own chapter soon and
taking projects such as Wiki Loves Monuments are projects i wish we could
host sometimes next year, depending on our membership on board.
We are looking forward to see everyone back on track of editing on our
local page www.tn.wikipedia.org.
Thank you very much.

as voting coordinator I want to give you an update on the AGM, and more
specifically the vote of confidence on you as current director (point 4 on
the proposed agenda).
The meeting went towards a formal vote - "Do you have confidence in
Charlene as a board member of the current organisation". The organisation
has 13 members; 7 were present, 3 were proxied. Results - 9 have no
confidence, one abstention. Two proxies were not accepted (your proxy was
submitted too late, and the proxy of Ian was also not accepted).
According to article 13.1.3 of the statutes for Wikimedia ZA, you were removed
from the Board. I trust you can deal with it in that context.
