Dear all,
Please fill out this form if you want to take advantage of the Wikimedia
South Africa Bookshelf service. This service allows Wikipedia editors who
are editing on Southern African subjects to
Membership of the Wikimedia South Africa chapter is not necessary to take
advantage of this program but members are prioritised.
A requirement is that the books will be used in the editing of Wikipedia.
Participants in this program recognise that the books procured through this
process are the property of Wikimedia South Africa and as such
beneficiaries of this program agree to share these books with other
Wikipedia editors upon request. A new form will need to be filled out for
each book you wish to get.
You can take advantage of this program by either requesting that the
Chapter purchase the book on your behalf and send it to you or you can
purchase the book and then request reimbursement once you have submitted
proof of purchase. If you want reimbursement then please contact the
chapter at info(a)wikimedia.org.za
Wikimedia South Africa has a limited budget for this project so we can only
purchase or issue reimbursements if the books are not too expensive
(generally below R600). Special consideration might be made in exceptional
circumstances but that will need to be discussed with the chapter
beforehand.

Dear all,
Wikimedia South Africa Chapter supports Wikipedia volunteers in South
Africa to run projects to increase African content, improve small language
Wikipedias, raise awareness about Wikipedia and its sister projects and
activate new users.
We call upon South African Wikimedians who would like support from the
chapter to run any project that supports these objectives to reach out to
us with their proposed ideas and budget projections. Whether your idea is
to organise a Wiki meet-up, run an edit-a-thon, writing competition, or
advocacy work. We will support you with the necessary resources to run the
project and help you with reporting about its results and impact.
If you need this kind of support, kindly fill the short form below before 1
March 2023.
