My name is Abbas and I am subscribed to this list out of interest. As you may be aware, there are currently two events in Africa that'll be celebrating Wikipedia's 10th Anniversary in January: one in Cairo, and the other in Nairobi. (See http://ten.wikipedia.org)
I am the one organising the Nairobi event, and I thought that it might be imperative for me to share and invite my fellow Wikimedians in Africa about this event. Please find attached a formal invitation.
Wikimedia Kenya would highly appreciate the presence of member(s) from WM ZA at this event.
Thanks and success in starting up WMZA.

I'm working on the Wikimedia movement roles project. We are trying to
clarify the roles and responsibilities of different entities, groups
and people working to support the international Wikimedia movement.
I am interested in learning your views on some of the questions we are
trying to answer. For example, we are trying to understand how best
to support the growth of the movement in the developing world. A full
list of these initial questions is at
Your experience with the he South African chapter of Wikimedia might
shed some light for us on these issues. I'm based in London, and can
call by phone or Skype. Might it be possible for us to talk?
Very best regards
