Following on from Ian's post, I thought I'd list the existing Wikipedias in South African languages - as they exist (excluding English).
I think it's a good idea to include English too, actually. Has anyone tried contacting the South African WikiProject? You could leave a note on the WikiProject talk page[1] or contact the participants[2] on their talk pages individually.
Afrikiaans: 15704 articles (http://af.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuisblad)
Two Afrikaans speakers that I know are Anrie[3] and Jeandré du Toit[4].
Any help that anyone can provide in this regard is much appreciated.
I'd start by posting a message on each of those wiki's village pumps[5].
Hope this helps, Casey

[3]http://af.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gebruiker:Anrie [4]http://af.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gebruiker:Jeandr%C3%A9_du_Toit [5]There's a list on [[m:Distribution list]], but it's not completely up-to-date and sometimes not accurate. A good way to find the Village pumps is to look for interwikis on [[w:en:WP:VP]] or to click the "Community portal" link in the sidebar of the wiki in question.
