Hello,
Even logged as WikiSysop I could not undelete a deleted page.
The message says I have not permission.
Could you please tell me what I have to do.
Thanks

Hi,
is there a way to store general information in a template and access parts
of that information by a conditional call of the template?
An example could be a list of first name and surname of people working in
defined positions in different departments. A template call to find out the
Surname could then look like this
{{People_Info
|Department=DepartementA
|Position=Accountant
|Surname}}
where DepartementA and Accountant define which surname has to be displayed.
I tried a lot with the parser functions #if and #ifeq but the result is not
really satisfying.
Is there an 'easier' solution available?

Hello all,
Is there a way to upload files en masse to wikipedia.org? My
organization has been running its own MediaWiki installation but would
like to move these files to Wikipedia. We have 771 pages and 156 image
files in our current wiki.
We'd like to start our own portal on the subject (net-centric warfare)
as none currently exists.
All advice appreciated, including whether there's a better way than a
portal.
Thanks
Ryan
I'm working on adding mssql functionality to media wiki, but i've come accross something weird that happens between a call to nextSequenceValue() and insert(), one of my parameters is getting changed from a "1" to an array that references MessagesEn.php with the value 1207685040. Is there some sort of automatic translation feature in the code that would cause this?

Hi Tim, nice wiki!
Can you explain, if you have the time, how you got the YouTube video
in there?
I looked at the source code, and don't quite get the line
{{#ev:youtube|Ywg-PdeGVL0}}
I'd like to do something similar.
I googled "YouTube in MediaWiki", and got some hits, just wondering
the best method to use, if you have any recommendations.
Thanks,

I actually want to include some language below the image on the
enlargement page so that it sits below the image, not on the Upload
File page.
Sorry for the confusion.

Hello
A user of one of the wikis I administer has reported the following error
when trying to upload a PDF file:
Internal Error: Could not rename file "/tmp/phpO39LcP" to

The odd thing is that the 'public' directory doesn't exist. Here's what

Hello.
On this page http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Config_script I've found
the instruction about how to setup a Mediawiki installation from a
web-form-based script.
I need to setup automatically a mediawiki installation from an external
program.
Of course i can generate by my self the LocalSetting file but I need to
setup the DB structure exactly as the form-based-installation does.
Have you any link about setting up a mediawiki installation without using
the web-form-based script?
Thank you.
I'm using:
but it keeps throwing one of the values out of the resulting
hyperlink. If I add in
|caption|caption-text
then the caption show up correctly. But with no caption, it does the
weird thing.
Ideas?
Thanks!
Tim
