Hi all,
I have about 10 extra namespaces in addition to the standard namespaces
added by Mediawiki. But not all the extra namespaces
seems to be have been indexed properly (it takes very long time to
produce search results). Is there a limit as to how much data MW (out of
the box) will index, or how many namespaces it includes in the index, or
some extra setting where one have to explicitly include some extra
namespaces? I have several instances of MW, but only the instance
containing the en-WP seems to have this problem. Strangely enough the
nms with even numbers are not slow. The "slow" nms has an odd number (711).
Any ideas about what can have gone wrong? I'm using MW 1.9.3, PHP 5.1.2,
MySQL 5.0.22)

Hi,
Could anyone plz suggest some tips to successfully integrate FCKEditor with Mediawiki 1.9.3?
When I tried to use, it's taking a lot of time to load mediawiki pages.
Here's my settings for FCKEditor
require_once("extensions/FCKeditor.php");
$wgFCKUseEditor = true; // When set to 'true' the FCKeditor is the default editor.
$wgFCKEditorDir = "FCKeditor";
$wgFCKEditorToken = "__USE_EDITOR__";
$wgFCKEditorHeight = "600";
$wgFCKEditorAllow_a_tags = true; // <a> </a> : Set this to true if you want to use the **external** link
// generator of the FCKeditor.
$wgFCKEditorAllow_img_tags = true; // <img /> : Set this to true if you want to use the
// file browser and/or the smilies of the FCKeditor.
$wgFCKEditorToolbarSet = "Default";
Following the discussion page of the extension I tried different combinations in FCKEditor.php for the $state = new StripState; $x =& $state; lines. Do we need both these lines? Or one of it?

Re-direct your home page to your wiki home using HTML. Here's
index.php from http://www.EcoReality.org , for example. You may be
able to use this verbatim.

Hi,
I'm using Mediawiki 1.9.3. When I add some extensions, I'm getting a blank page. Though my php setting is to display error messages, I'm not getting any error displayed. So I cannot understand where the problem is. Is there any setting in Mediawiki which changes the error display setting?

How about a single line in LocalSettings.php that includes a "don't
touch me" file that is maintained only via the ExtensionManager?
Part of the manual installation would be to include this one line, as
well as remove any existing extension inclusions.

Hi,
I would like to add page based ACLs to my AuthPlugin and I think I've
devised a relatively simple and elegant way which is illustrated below
(the example uses Windows group and user names but I think this would
work equally well in something like the LdapAuthentication plugin with
DNs). I would appreciate any feedback or guidance as to the security
and sanity of the implementation.
In LocalSettings one initializes the AuthPlugin and loads the ACLs:
$wgAuth = new PlexcelAuth();
$wgAuth->page_acls['EmployeeWorkLog'] = array(
'rbaker(a)example.com'
);
$wgAuth->page_acls['Trial*'] = array(
'trials.example.com\Managers',
'Executive Compliance'
);
$wgAuth->page_acls['*'] = array(
'lwatts(a)example.com' => 'DENY',
'Lab Temps' => 'DENY'
'RadWiki Users',
'trials.example.com\Managers'
);
In our AuthPlugin class I have a method that checks access. If
$_GET['title'] matches a pattern the corresponding ACL is chosen and
evaluated:
function checkAccess($acls, $target) {
foreach ($acls as $pattern => $acl) {
$pattern = '/' . $pattern . '/';
if (preg_match($pattern, $target)) {
foreach ($acl as $key => $val) {
if ($val == 'DENY') {
if (plexcel_is_member_of($this->px, $key)) {
return FALSE;
}
} else {
if (plexcel_is_member_of($this->px, $val)) {
return TRUE;
}
}
}
}
}
return FALSE;
}
Now whenever the AutoAuthenticate hook or AuthPlugin::authenticate
function is successful, the checkAccess method is called:
if (isset($_GET['title']) == FALSE ||
$this->checkAccess($this->page_acls, $_GET['title']) == FALSE) {
header('Location: PlexcelAccessDenied');
return FALSE;
}
This seems pretty simple to me. Comments?
Thanks,
Mike

I have looked through the list archives and if this has been asked before I
apologize but I seem to be coming up empty handed.
I am trying to allow javascript within wiki pages BUT preferably only for
sysops. Putting aside the permission thing for a moment is it possible to
include such scripting within a wiki page?
I found the $wgAllowUserJs flag which I have turned on but adding script
into a page is not doing anything.
I am trying to include some Google maps in pages and the current GoogleMaps
extension is just not powerful enough. For example, I need to have place
markers appears at different zoom levels etc.
As always, any input is much appreciated.
Thanks,
Paul
What I want to do is be able to transclude individual sections of pages...
without having to go back and edit old pages to add <onlyinclude> tags.
I did find the Labeled Section Transclusion extension (
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Labeled_Section_Transclusion) but that also
involved edit old pages.
Are there any other options?
Dan
