hello,
I publish an extension to add multi-languages capacities to a wiki. :
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:MultiLanguageManager
It looks interesting.
The MediaWiki page could really benefit from some screenshots,
especially regarding more than one translation of a page, and the
"language" tab for people who have the userrights.
I think it's bad to use flags to represent languages, but the flag
files could be overwritten with language codes I suppose. :) I think
it would be fine just as a text link, though.
At the moment on your website, on a French page it displays a huge
British flag, and on an English page it displays a huge French page.
The intended meaning "Switch to this language" is not that obvious to
me. I would have put the flag representing the CURRENT language on the
page. What happens when there is more than one translation? Which flag
gets displayed?
cheers,
Brianna
For the screenshots, You are right, I will add them soon
But I think I will also install a "demo" wiki
For tthe presentation, the extension is designed to allow customization.
You can do exactly what you want. If you use several skins on your wiki,
you can have several different presentations
the demo wiki will show you different exemples
