Hi everybody,
first of all, I would like to say thank you to all contributors to
mediawiki. It rocks!
I was trying to add routines for easy maintenance of my wiki, like
running deleteoldrevisions and others scripts from mediawiki, using a
special page, for example.
I found that there is an extension for the deleteoldrevisions, but it
did not work for me (i am using ver. 1.6.8). I get "Fatal error: Call
to a member function on a non-object in
/home/v12318/public_html/includes/SpecialPage.php on line 210" when
trying to open the Special Pages page.
well, I was wondering if there is an easy way to run those scripts
online, best if inside mediawiki, or does anyone has a light about
this problem with the extension mentioned above.
thank you very much,
Sergio Bruno
Direct including of template
Hello,
I write an extension for MediaWiki and I want to use the template feature. But,
my extension finds the parameters of template by itself, so the parsing of the
{{}} structure unnecessary.
Thanks, Assaf

Hello,
Last night I installed MediaWiki 1.6.8 on RHEL3 running Apache 1.3.36, PHP
4.4.2, and MySQL 4.1.19-standard. When I click on a link to a page that
doesn't exist yet, I am taken to an edit page, but see this error message
before actually doing an edit:
Sorry! We could not process your edit due to a loss of session data. Please
try again. If it still doesn't work, try logging out and logging back in.
My configuration has only changed to Eliminating index.php from the
url<http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Eliminating_index.php_from_the_url>using
the first option (Using aliases in
httpd.conf). I am getting this error on three different machines and on
each machine, I have logged out, cleared the cache, closed and open the
browser, logged back in and still get the error. I also get the error when
not logged in. I seached for this error and found a Wikietech-l post about
this from June.
http://mail.wikipedia.org/pipermail/wikitech-l/2006-June/036112.html
Is there a problem with this customization or a problem with MediaWiki
1.6.8that I've overlooked?
Ryan

I would like to make one template {eeprofile} that contains a link to
an employee's profile page. Then any user could easily place the banner
in their userpage.
Is there a way a template can parse the employee's Idnumber from the
MW username? All our MW usernames consist of 'Firstname LastName ####'
(i.e, John Doe 55555) The ID number can be from 1 to 999999 without
leading zeros. If the employee's ID number is 55555, the link would be
http://intranet.com/servlet/PeopleDirServlet?Search=55555.
thank you,
Brian

However, I can not access http://localhost/~theuser/

I don't know of any simple way to do it. I have an email form that
users fill in, then I use phpMyAdmin to create their mw_user record,
then send them email with a link to the page where they can request
that a password be mailed to them.
Example at: http://www.EcoReality.org/wiki/Join (Please don't
actually complete the process unless you really WANT to join!)
