Okay, I've tried to find answers by reading every page I could find,
but I'm still not understanding.
Let's just say:
I have a user page called "Raquel". That page calls a template
called "Userpage. So far, so good.
Now I want to create variables which will be substituted on the user
page, and that's where it's falling apart.
Let's say I want the city where "Raquel" lives to be substituted
into her page and the city where "Pamela" lives to be substituted
into her page.
I thought that defining the variables in the user page would do it,
in Raquels page:
<ff>
city = Paris
</ff>
and then in Pamela's page:
<ff>
city = London
</ff>
In the template file I'm using:
City: {{$city}}
But, it's not working.

I want to change the default name of the "Image" namespace to something like "File"... as I find this more consistent with our use of the namespace now, when we begin to upload other kind of files than images.
What is the best way to go around making this change?
Will I have to go through the Sisyfos task of changing all the links pointing to [[Image:filename.jpg]]'s etc. ?
Best wishes,
Morten :-)

Hello!
Can anyone tell me (in the main.css file), which element is for the "dead
links/pages" that haven't been created yet? I can't seem to identify it,
and want to change the color (the default is red). I thought perhaps it was
the a.stub element, but changing the color there on main.css didn't make any
change on my wiki when saved to the server and reloaded.
Thanks,
Colleen Robledo
Hallo!
laeuft. Kann man den verwenden? Es waer super wenn jemand eine Idee
haette.
Danke schon mal im Voraus.
Viele Gruesse,
Mei
I'm working on a list of testimonials of corporate users of MediaWiki.
The first one, from Novell, can be seen at:
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Sites_using_MediaWiki/corporate
I've contacted most of the other companies in the list (I haven't
found someone to talk to at AOL yet, which was listed as a MediaWiki
user, hence I have removed it pending verification). I don't expect
many responses, but if we get 3-4 testimonials in the end, I'll
already be happy.
If your company uses MediaWiki, please send me a quick e-mail, or feel
free to post a testimonial publicly. What I'm looking for are one
paragraph summaries of how different companies are using the software,
in addition to brief company profiles. Extensive case studies would
also be cool, of course, if you're happy to put them under the GFDL.
Cheers,
Erik
