Hello all,
I posted a message a few weeks back concerning an issue I'm having
troubleshooting external authentication to mediawiki using an existing
cookie from a domain. I tried some of the suggestions, all to no avail.
It has come to the point where I really need to get it working, and I'm
fairly certain a mediawiki/php "guru" will have little problem getting it to
work, or otherwise informing me that what I'm trying to do won't work. I
feel like the code is one simple modification from working correctly; it is
just that I'm not implementing it right with regards to the external
authentication plugin.
Where might I go about obtaining such assistance? If here is correct, please
feel free to contact me at the address below. I can provide access to the
server and everything. I'll happily compensate for the help if it means that
this hurdle can be overcome in a timely manner!
Thanks!
Justin

Hi all,
I would like to change my e-mail here in this list. I've not found where I
could do that. Perhaps, I have to unsubscribe my old e-mail, and subscribe
with my new one, right?
Thanks a lot, mauro.

I have been unable to perform transclusions of page sections. I have
seen several wiki sites reference this method:
{{:Pagename#Section}}
Which should only include the section referenced.
I am only able to transclude the entire the page.
Any ideas?
I have the same problem when installed mediawiki to Fedora 4, too.
Furthermore, I encontered "The file is corrupt or has an incorrect
extension. Please check the file and upload again." error.
Is there you encounter the same problem?

Hi All,
I've got MediaWiki running and online but am not getting any emails when
pages are modified.
I have opted to watch the pages so its not a basic error like that.
ANy suggestions for things to check would be appreciated.
Cheers
John
Hallo,
ich have problems with installation of the version 1.5.6. My system ist
Windows XP and ich have MySQL 5.0.18-nt-log.
When i started the installation funktion, the function can't create the
table "categorylinks".
I get the error: "Specified key was too long; max key length is 1000
bytes"
Under MySQL 4.1.13-nt-log is that not a problem.
Now, i have change the table config to 78 charactars in "cl_sortkey
varchar(78) binary NOT NULL default '',".
Then installation is running. I have read the documentation of MySQL and i
have read the limit is 1000 Byte not 1KByte.
My question is: What problems i have now with the short key?
Mit freundlichen Grüssen / Kind regards
Thomas Klein
Hi all,
I have been trying to cut and paste some pieces of the Meta Help into some
basic help files for my wiki but the parts that are in <pre> </pre> tags are
totally not working. The code is there, i.e. wiki code in between the tags
.... you've all seen it, the examples for how to use various wiki markup
etc.
But when you preview or save the page, it turns into something like this:
NaodW29-pre7c193d5a7493d86000000001
what happened!?
I'm on
* MediaWiki: 1.5.1
* PHP: 4.4.1 (apache)
* MySQL: 5.0.15-log
Using the mozilla cavendish wiki skin.
Funny thing I noticed is that if you search in google for that string
NaodW29, look how many ppl have the same problem?!
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=NaodW29-&btnG=Google+Search
Any suggestions/direction would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Thanks, Rob, this worked. All my images are happy.

Hello all,
I've set up a wiki (v. 1.5.2) and all seems to be working well, except
that it did not appear to create a LocalSettings.php file. Can someone
tell me where this file should be located and what it should contain?
I'd like to customize a few things but don't want to edit the
defaultsettings.php file to do it.
Thanks in advance,
Ryan
Check in the Config directory.
