I want to let you all know that the submission deadline for people wanting to present at Wikimania 2018 https://wikimania2018.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimania in Cape Town (18-22 July) has been extended by one week. The the new (unofficial) deadline is *midnight the 25th March 2018*.

Unless the chair of the program committee decides otherwise this announcement will not appear on the Wikimania website.

This deadline extension is unofficial as it was granted as Wiki Indaba (the local African version of Wikimania) overlapped with the deadline causing many African attendees to be unable to put in their submissions. Although the extension was granted for the Wiki Indaba attendees everyone is free to make use of the extension including everyone on this mailing list. The announcement of the extension was made at Wiki Indaba on the last day of the event on the 18th March shortly after the committee made the decision. Apologies to everyone here for not sharing this announcement sooner with everyone on this mailing list.

So if you missed the 18 March deadline to present at Wikimania you now have until the 25th March to make your submissions. Best make use of this as there will be no further extensions.
