Hi,
it will not be a separate room, but either happen in the big square outside or in the jockey auditorium, like we describe it here:
http://wikimania2013.wikimedia.org/wiki/Chapters_Village#How.2C_where_and_wh...
We will decide on-site, which space we go for in the end (mostly depending on weather conditions.
The big screen is only available outside, so let's hope that we feel that we can survive the heat and typhoons. ;)
Both spaces will not be separate rooms but open and quite busy. Please don't imagine it to be veeeeeery huge, there will be tables for chapters and a meeting area for 4 parallel meetings.
It is open during all conference days, some chapter will be present all the time, some will just decide upon spontaneously and announce timeslots where they hold real-life office hours or offer topics to discuss.
Should you have further questions, feel free to ask on-wiki.
All the best, Nicole

Hi, All
I just did not understand how will the Chapter Village look like. Does it mean a separate room, where smb must be present 24\7? :) Or just a table with promo-materials?

My turn to remind you all to add your chapter or your thematic group or your regional group to the list of participant of the chapters village!
And for those who still hesitate, we will find a way to have free food! :-)
Cheers

Hello again,
just a small reminder for adding your plans and ideas to the Chapters Village page.
Speed Geeking and Meet-ups in the Chapters Village can appear in the official printed programme brochure, but the deadline for that is 30 June.
If you already have an idea what you'd like to present in the speed geeking or meet-up slots, please add your plans to the meta page
http://wikimania2013.wikimedia.org/wiki/Chapters_Village#Join_in.21_Things_w... ,
before Thursday 27 June, 1 pm .
Of course, you will also be able to add your plans later on.
Best regards, Nicole

Dear Chapter and Affiliations friends,
after having an own booth at last year's Wikimania, we were thinking and
discussing with several other chapters and the HK organisers, that it would
be nice to take a broader approach this year: How about having more chapters
and affiliates presenting their work and passion, exchange knowledge, talk,
inform, socialise and have fun at this year's event?
Together with interested organisations, we would like to create a
Chapters
Village for this purpose. To coordinate our ideas and needs, we have set up
a page on the Wikimania wiki, where interested chapters are more than
welcome to add their plans.
http://wikimania2013.wikimedia.org/wiki/Chapters_Village
The HK organisers kindly offered to provide tables and chairs, all you need
is bring time, projects to present, experience to share and ideas to
discuss. :)
The village can be the central meeting point for all chapter related issues,
you can continue discussions from your own talks there, use it to spread
your information material or to gather people you'd like to do cool stuff
together with.
This is not only an invitation to single chapters and affiliates but also to
regional groups of chapters, like Iberocoop, Francocoop, CEEWiki Group, Asia
Forum and Chapters Association.
We will provide a more detailed schedule within the next days, but wanted to
present the idea now to the broader movement to hear your feedback and give
you time to prepare.
Find more information on wiki. Should you have any questions, concerns or
other input, please get in touch with me and/or my colleages Kasia and Wenke
(both CC'ed).
All the best, looking forward to seeing you in Hong Kong,
Nicole
