Hello,
Last year OpenStreetMap had a stand at Software Freedom Day Pretoria. We didn't make a big effort, but it must have been successful, because we've been invited back.
So I'd like to hear if someone would like to run a Wikipedia stand. All that is required is a banner and a person with a laptop that can answer the basic questions. When he / she wants to present a talk or visit the other stands, I'll run both stands.
It will be held at the Department of Science & Technology on the CSIR Campus in Pretoria (near Menlyn) on the 18th of September. http://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org/2010/Africa/SouthAfrica/Pretoria
Regards, Nic

I'd be glad to help! I'm sure I can organise a banner - how big is the stall?
All recommendations on content and signage design are welcome.

Last year it was just undivided floor space and Karl Fischer from DST supplied chairs and small tables. I live close to the CSIR, so I'll have a look on the Friday and then add furniture and duck tape as needed.
So the banner can be between 1 and 2 meter. Something simple like "Wikipedia South Africa" with the logo will be good enough. I can print it with my ink jet on a number of A4s and just glue it together.

I can do one better on that: I can print A3 on the colour laserjet at work. If I don't get any detailed design proposals by the weekend, I'll whip up a nice-looking design with the Wikipedia logo and "Wikipedia South Africa".
