Hello everyone,

This is a quick summary on how the Wikimedia ZA Annual General Meeting we had on Saturday, 12th November, went. You can read the minutes of the AGM on our website here http://wikimedia.org.za/wiki/2016-AGM.

I want to thank everyone that attended, both in person and digitally. Also want to thank everyone who attended the Afrikaans Wikipedia 15th birthday celebration later in the day. Both events went very well.

Notable events at the AGM were:

- New board elected: - Douglas Scott - president (incumbent) - Ian Gilfillan - Raymond Ellis (new member) - Dumisani Ndubane - Bobby Shabangu - Coenraad Loubser (new member) - Liebe Bosch (pending her approval)

- New treasure and vice-president positions created: - Dumisani Ndubane elected treasure - Coenraad Loubser elected vice-president

- Wikimania 2018/19 - chapter voted to support the bid for Cape Town to host the event in either 2018 or 2019 and an organising team was formed. Members of the organising team are: - Douglas Scott - Michael Graaf - Ian Gilfillan - Raymond Ellis - Dumisani Ndubane - Bobby Shabangu - tacit - Andy Rabagliati - Coenraad Loubser - tacit

- The decision to pursue an simple Annual Program Grant from the Wikimedia Foundation for funding of the chapter.
