Hello,
Code for Africa (CfA) is pleased to invite the WMZA community members to join the campaign it organizes which focuses on addressing issues such as climate denialism or delayism and related mis/disinformation on Wikipedia.
The campaign under the theme “Bridging the gap: using Wikipedia to fight climate-denialism” has been launched in four African countries including South Africa. This campaign, which aims to pioneer new ways for the wider African Wikipedia community to mobilise and tackle issues such as climate denialism or delayism and related mis/disinformation, offers to participants the opportunity to benefit from training sessions (including editing and fact-checking techniques), as well as a data bundles package.
If you are a contributor to the Wikimedia space, passionate about climate change in Africa, then this volunteer opportunity is for you.
We highly invite you to join the community to increase verifiable and credible data about Africa on Wikipedia, and improve documentation on climate change in South Africa (and in its languages).
You can join the campaign by completing this form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc7F4_SwnPLbRJ9A9XZ84wGn51HnaL9Bc-J1J62dWfbavYqIQ/viewform, and learn more about it here https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Code_for_Africa_Climate_Change_Project.
Looking forward to having you with us soon!
Cordially, Reda Benkhadra
