Hello everyone, this is just a reminder (see forwarded email from the Wikimedia Foundation) that voting for the new board of trustees on the Wikimedia Foundation is now open. Voting will close at the end of this month. The Wikimedia Foundation is the organisation that runs the servers that Wikipedia, and other Wikis, are based on, writes the software and collects donations on behalf of Wikipedia.

Candidates from the community were asked to submit their candidacy. After a three week long Call for Candidates, there are 19 candidates for the 2021 election https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Foundation_elections/2021/Candidates#Candidate_Table .
The Wikimedia movement has the opportunity to vote for the selection of community-and-affiliate trustees. By voting, you will help to identify those people who have the qualities to best serve the needs of the movement for the next several years. The Board is expected to select the four most voted candidates to serve as trustees. Voting closes 31 August 2021.
