[Mediawiki-l] Looking for help setting up a MediaWiki distribution with VE and Flow

Hi All I'm a volunteer for Wikimedia UK, I was Wikimedian in Residence at the Natural History Museum and Science Museum in London and started a project called Monmouthpedia. I do some work for a charity called WYSE International <http://www.wyse-ngo.org/>, I'm trying to set up a wiki to support young leaders around the world in sharing their knowledge and am very stuck, I have been trying to set up Parsoid for several days. I'm able to set up the basic MediaWiki installation file but beyond that I'm getting very stuck with the instructions. I would really appreciate someone's help in setting up Parsoid, VE and Flow. Instant commons not working on my wiki

Instant commons is not working for me. Commons file links are just red links which send me to the local file upload page. I have set: $wgUseInstantCommons = true; File uploads work. $wgForeignFileRepos is not otherwise set. I'm on ubuntu, so no selinux concerns. I'm using version 23. Specifically, latest git from REL1_23 branch, which is b4ea637. I've tried a sample link [[File:Wikipedia-Marker-commons.svg|Wikipedia-Marker-commons]] Which, on the actual wiki is at https://ofswiki.org/wiki/Debian_add_new_interactive_user Any suggestion on figuring out whats wrong would be appreciated.

Scribunto "again"

recent upgrade again has killed my scribunto. I updated to extension version 1.23 to match my mediawiki. just after I got it running I noticed this error poping up in my pages that worked previously. Wiki problems: spam + MySQL errors

Hi All, Sorry if this is the wrong place for this. But I've inherited admin of a wiki, Cunnan <http://cunnan.lochac.sca.org/wiki/Main_Page>, and it has some problems with Spammers. I've setup ConfirmEdit's Question-base CAPTCHA, AntiSpoof and AbuseFilter to deal with them. However, I can not get AbuseFilter working with the wiki going blank on submitting of an edit, so it is un-implemented. I have read the Extension page, but it does not explain what is going on. Everytime I have attempted to Test a simple filter the function has returned a 'Database Error'. ====================================== A database query syntax error has occurred. This may indicate a bug in the software. The last attempted database query was: (SQL query hidden) from within function "AbuseFilterViewTestBatch::doTest". Database returned error "1054: Unknown column 'RC_EXTERNAL' in 'where clause' (localhost)". ======================================== And now when I try to mysqldump a backup I get ....... mysqldump: Couldn't execute 'show create table `temp`': View 'cunnan.temp' references invalid table(s) or column(s) or function(s) or definer/invoker of view lack rights to use them (1356) Or with a purgingOldText.php I get .... Error: 1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ' 27687, 27751, 27752, 27757, 27817, 27821, 27816, 27818, 27829, 27828, 27843, 27' at line 1 (localhost) So I suspect there is a database error, but I don't know where to find it. MediaWiki setup

I'm trying to get my mediawiki server up and running and I just get a blank page. I check the apache error log and I don't see anything. #-> php /var/www/mediawiki/mw/maintenance/showJobs.php PHP Warning: require(/var/www/mediawiki/mw/vendor/data-values/common/Common.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/mediawiki/mw/vendor/composer/autoload_real.php on line 54 PHP Fatal error: require(): Failed opening required '/var/www/mediawiki/mw/vendor/data-values/common/Common.php' (include_path='.:/usr/share/pear:/usr/share/php') in /var/www/mediawiki/mw/vendor/composer/autoload_real.php on line 54 I remove the localsettings file which should trigger mediawiki to start with the setup page, and I still get nothing. Corner case: template producing "*" at the beginning, without automatic newline

MetaWiki mentions the following [1]: > If you have a template/parser function that produces * and you WANT it to be > parsed as wikitext — but without adding a newline, you can write <li>; a <ul> > element will be added by the software. I tried to do that, but the <ul> tag is not added (at least on MW-1.22.12). This template: > <includeonly><li>test</li></includeonly> produces only '<li>test</li>' upon transclusion. Changing 24 clock to 12 hour clock on wiki page

Hi Normally I wouldn't ask about a template issue, but I'm looking for something that I think would have already been done somewhere. I'm using a Semantic Inputs time picker inside a Semantic Form, which only allows inputting time in a 24 hour format (commonly called military time in the US) but I need the time displayed on the wiki page to be in the AM/PM 12 hour format. I would think somewhere there's a simple template wiki syntax already created to do this, but I was surprised to find when I Googled that nothing really fit. So before I spend time figuring it out I wanted to make sure I'm not re-inventing the wheel. On another matter, got a message that seemed to be from this list about someone friending me. Hopefully this spam virus is from an individual, and not this list, but anyways thought everyone should be aware of this. The url directs to infoaxe, which from Googling I found was a common virus site. Sent from my iPad
