Hello guys,
since there is some lack of documentation for the vector-skin I am
posting this question here.
I would like to change the order of the p-caction-tabs in the
vector-skin (Main Page, Discussion, Edit and so on) on Mediawiki1.16. Is
there an easy way to do it? "Easy" meaning without changing the code
directly; because that would certainly cause problems updating the wiki
in the future.
I'd appreciate any help on this issue.

When running a backup for my media wiki what files on the database should I
be concerned about backing up the most? Wondering what tables/files matter
the most incase I have to do an emergency backup.
Hello B. M. Whealton,
After the last email I sent, I realized the installation of SMW and Semantic
Forms, which apparently went smoothly, so I did the installation of Halo Acl
and it was installed but its Special Page goes blank, do not understand and
do not know what to do ... need help too!
Thanks
Hugo Vasques
You could us mowes, or search google for "webserver on a stick". It has
everything you need for mediawiki.

Afternoon all,
I've got a desire to embed a visio diagram into my wiki after saving the diagram as a webpage.
How do I embed HTML into a wiki article?
Thanks,
Brett
I updated our wiki from 1.6.8 to 1.16.0 and I'm finding that the main login
link at top right of the main page isn't working. I can get to the login
page by going to Special Pages in the side menu and selecting the login
link from there. The bad link looks like this:
<http://wiki.matureasskickers.net/Main_Page?title=Special:UserLogin&returnto…>
I disabled mod_rewrite stuff in my Apache config file in case that was
causing a problem.
A similar problem happens if I attempt to create a new page. The "edit this
page" link produced expands to:
<http://wiki.matureasskickers.net/?title=User:ScratchMonkey/WoW_Toons&action…>
It's been awhile since I had to tinker with the config for this wiki. Is
there some place I should look to diagnose this? It seems like the format
of inter-page links has changed and something didn't get updated to be
aware of it.
I'm having crazy problems with the AbuseFilter extension, and I can't get any filters to do anything at all. No matter what kind of actions I try to filter out, they get through without the Abusefilter doing anything to stop them, it doesn't even log the events in the abuse log. Even running it in test mode and comparing all the old edits, nothing matches the filter. For example, the "shouting" filter which is intended to catch anyone typing in BLOCK CAPITAL LETTERS, completely ignores anyone who has been doing it.
It's blind.
The filters I've been trying are the ones wikipedia itself uses, so they should definitely work. For some reason it just doesn't seem to be paying attention to any of the edits though.
I have two other extensions installed, AntiSpoof and "bad behaviour"... Apparently AntiSpoof is required before you can install AbuseFilter, so I doubt there could be any conflict there. Bad behaviour is working effectively, so effectively that it wouldn't allow me to install AbuseFilter to begin with because it seemed to think the installer was a bot or something? So I had to temporarily disable it in order to get AbuseFilter installed. Bad behaviour is still currently disabled so I don't think there could be any conflict there either.
I'm on mediawiki 1.16, the latest one. My extensions are all also the versions which go with 1.16. The server is Apache/Linux. PHP 5.2.42 and MySQL 5.0.85.
Has anyone heard of this happening before, or got even the slightest clue what the problem could be? Even the faintest idea or the wildest guess would be helpful, to give me something to look into. I've got nothing.
Hello guys,
I've seen the possibitliy to add a page to various social networks on
several sites yet. Some example can be find here at the bottom:

Is there any extension or implemented feature that does exactly this with an
article page?
Thank you
robert
Hello,
So, I have been learning and studying aspects of the Semantic
Web. I have created FOAF files. My questions ar... The foaf is an
rdf/xml file. How might a SemanticMediaWiki link to or incorporate that
information? Would you use that in any annotations?
Related to that, when one wants to display code inside a wiki
article, using mediawiki, how is that done? If it is html tags or xml
tags, one may not want the wiki to do anything with that other than to
display it as text in the article.
Thanks,
Bruce
