Hello everyone
I was unable to find the answer to my question in the official documentation, thus I send this mail.
It seems that some organizations are able to create multiple wikis with just one mediawiki installation (i.e. a multi-client capability). Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find any "official" information about it nor any instructions of how it is realized.
Does someone know how to make a mediawiki multi-client capable?
I look forward to any hints.
Kind regards,
Moove

Greetings all,
I found my self in need of a TODO list progress tracking extension, so I wrote one.
The basic idea is to be able to track items on a TODO list (or any list really)
based on their status. Each item is given a "value" that is then used to create
a nice visual progress bar that is displayed at the bottom of the list.
The full details are at: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:TODOListProgressBar
I welcome any comments or suggestions, especially on how to improve the
performance of the extension or the code I have written. If you find a bug,
typo, or other annoyance, please, let me know and I'll fix it when I get the chance.

Hi,
I was studying the Wikipedia Templates and I have see somes codes like this:
style="{{{bodystyle|}}};{{{style|}}}"><tr>...
But "bodystyle" isn't defined anywhere and it isn't invoked but has a value
in the page result. Exists some meaning to define this values? Thanks.
Greetings all,
Is it possible for an extension to set a page as "protected"? I have a tag that
displays help info for my extension, I'd like to drop it in a page, and have the
tag set the page as protected via a parameter. The idea is to allow the tag to
display its output but have the page be protected from editing.
Thanks for any advice, much appreciated.

Hi,
I just upgraded from MediaWiki 1.13 to 1.15.
I also upgraded the extension ParserFunctions which I updated directly
from SVN to the last version:
$ svn info

Repository Root: http://svn.wikimedia.org/svnroot/mediawiki
Repository UUID: dd0e9695-b195-4be7-bd10-2dea1a65a6b6
Revision: 53274
Node Kind: directory

Last Changed Author: siebrand
Last Changed Rev: 52757
Last Changed Date: 2009-07-04 01:41:53 +0200 (Sat, 04 Jul 2009)
$ svn update
U Expr.php
U ParserFunctions.i18n.magic.php
U ParserFunctions_body.php
U ParserFunctions.i18n.php
U ParserFunctions.php
U funcsParserTests.txt
Updated to revision 67914.
Now I get the following error when I go to my Mediawiki:

Greetings all,
I'm not sure if this is the right mailing list to be posting this question to,
so if I should be posting to mediawiki-api, please let me know. (I think I'm in
the right spot though.)
I have a question about recursiveTagParse(). Is it XSS safe? As in, do I need to
escape its output with htmlspecialchars() or does it take care of that for me?
I am writing a tag extension, and I need it to be able to parse wiki text. I
have followed the instructions at
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Tag_extensions#Version_1.8_to_version_…
(I am running MW 1.15.4), but it doesn't specify if the output is XSS safe or not.
Erring on the side of caution, I have pre-escaped all of my user supplied
variables with htmlspecialchars(), but if I could avoid this step it would be
wonderful, both for the simplicity of coding and performance.
Thanks for any advice you can offer, it's much appreciated.

Hi,
in media wikis ("commons") there are image galleries on image category pages instead of pure title link lists.
How do I configure those galleries:
- size of an image
- number of images per row
Is this in $wgGalleryOptions ?
(Introduced in version: 1.17.0 r63707 - this is not released yet)
But we carry MW 1.14.1
:-(
Other suggestions?

Hi,
I've just seen the possibility to display the number of pages in a
given namsepace with the magic word {{PAGESINNAMESPACE}}. But this
requires $wgAllowSlowParserFunctions to be enabled.
This name is not very reassuring (as far as I understand it with my
limited english). Is it OK to enable this parameter or would that be a
resource heavy bad idea ?
Thanks for any advice.
