I like to find all pages which are in category X and category Y. I
need this often,
so I dont like to do this manually. Do I need a extension for this?
And if so, which one?
Best regards

Hello,
Looking at INSTALL it seems we are still supporting PHP version 5.1
which is 5 years old in a couple of weeks. This is getting old and
prevents developers from using some new features.
Ideally we could raise it to 5.3 to get Namespace support, closures but
that might be to early since most webhost probably still use 5.2.x.
Would it be possible to consider raising the requirement to at least
5.2.0 ? This would give us native JSON support and most probably the
filter extension enabled by default. The later can be used to speed up
the input validation.
cheers,

Hello,
There is a wiki that is setup without Ldap authentication, and when you
go to the page it doesn't of course prompt you for Login. I could create
a page with the login, and have it as the main page, however, I was
questioning if that is the recommend method.
Thanks
Hi there,
As we know, the difference between "Go" and "Search" buttons beside the search box is that "Go" first looks for article's title and first lists search results found in titles, and immediately goes to the indicated article if one is found. If "Go" fails to find an article, it then automatically executes "Search" which is a full-text search for the given words.
However, it only works well for default namespaces. If the given keywords string is in articles under a customized namespace, the "Go" doesn't look for (or list) article titles first, which means there is no difference between "Go" and "Search".
Is there any way to do to make the "Go" to work for customized namespaces?
BTW, in case there is something to do with the search engine, I am using Lucene-search/MWSearch.
Thanks in advance,
Ross Xu
Well, so being a mediawiki savvy I realize how using mediawiki can benefit a
small to medium scale enterprise.
Recently I have being asked task to convience my executive management team
about benefits of using an internal corporate mediawiki in the organization
(say 60 to 80 people). What are some good pointers/resources that I can
point them to?
I would like to avoid the route of me telling them as to why I think it will
be useful. Rather it would be good if I can give them a 3rd party resources
or even testimonials from this mailing list which explains in general that
how can mediawiki benefit an organization.
Your inputs will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Upon saving a book, I can find it in User:username/Books/bookname
and there are links to each page but no buttons, menu items, or
links to regenerate the .pdf output nor to get back to the
manage book window.
It appears that the "Download" button of the Manage Books page does
not go out and fetch the latest versions of the book's selected pages.
I see no indication that a re-rendering occurs and I am getting the
same .pdf returned.
It seems that the entire book saving mechanism is mis-implemented;
even when it lets me save a book, it's weird trying to get back to a
saved book; trying to modify a previously saved book seems impossible.
I have added these to my LocalSettings.php
$wgAutoConfirmAge = 1;
$wgAutoConfirmCount = 1;
Hi everyone,
Is it possible to retrieve via the Wikipedia API (or index.php) a thumbnail
of a picture given its file name ? All i know currently is that there's the
...index.php?title=Special:FilePath/<FileName> page but i do not know how i
could use it to get in my application a thumbnail with the specified
dimension instead of the full resolution picture.
We use the Liquid Threads extension. It would be very useful to be able to
set up an RSS or Atom feed to pick up new threads. It's obviously not
practical to put a watch on every Talk page. Does anyone have a solution to
this?

Hi,
Is there any way to deploy mediawiki without using web based form/script ?
I am trying to deploy mediawiki 1.15.4 using some command line scripts and passing some config parameters but it seems that only way is to use web based config script.
Thanks
